Rita Donohue Obituary
Irondequoit: October 19, 2011 at age 81. Predeceased by her granddaughter, Alisa Geraci; and daughter-in-law, Gail Lloyd. Beloved mother of Kathleen (Hal) Bekemeyer, Rita (Glenn) Gravino, Jeanette (Dan) Ekberg, George Lloyd, John (Maureen) Reale, Thomas (Susan) Reale, Christina Reale, Santina (Lawrence) Latona and Gina Marie Reale; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister of Patricia (Allen) Jackson and James Donohue; several nieces, nephews; and her loving pets, Chico and Baby.
Friends may call SUNDAY 12-4 PM at the Dierna Funeral Home, 2309 Culver Road (near Norton). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 10:30 AM at Blessed Kateri at St. Cecilia's Church. Private Inurnment. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make contributions to Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester or any animal rescue in her memory.

When I was a little kid ( 7 yrs old ) I remember this sweet Lady ~ Great person !! with a wonderful family, loving, kind & everthing to go along with the good life....Rita was a person that I would look up to. Besides protecting me in certian situations ( a loyal Lady ) the family she leaves behind are TRULY wonderful people ! Little john, tina my heart gos out to you & the rest of the family...I'v knowen this Lady for my entire life ( I surley missed a few years of seeing her ) but Rita ALLWAYS stuck out in my mind as a wonderful Lady.....I will miss her !! As will all of us....one day, we will all be together ~ joking, eating, having a great time ( Bay st. ~ 1970's ) up in Heaven with Rita....Love & miss you...Frank Cordello

I am at a loss for adequate words to express my sadness for all of you. I know i didnt spend a lot of time with your mom But I had the blessed opportunity of knowing your mom and I know heaven just received one of the most special angels. I wish I could come to the services for your mom,unfortunately,I won't be able to.She was a unique person.She made everyone around her want to do better.She weathered a lot of rough years,and still had an ear to ear smile.I am happy I had the pleasure of knowing her and I am glad she is at peace now.God bless you all.
