Best doctor ever! My wife and I miss him dearly even today. He was never in a hurry when you had a medical visit! I would think, doctor don“t you have other patients to see? I get choked up thinking of how dear and caring he was! His family, former patients and friends should know that as you, we have the fondest memories of him! May the good Lord continue to bless his family and friends!

As all I have read about Dr. Bob, I can relate to. Being a Man and going to the Dr. on a regular basis is hard, but after meeting this Man, I was a regular. We sometimes would just talk tennis, he was very special, and like all I will miss him.

Dr. Bob:
I still cannot believe you have moved on in your journey. But don't think you are off the hook! I will be calling on you for guidance when things get tough and I can hear you now telling me with a reassuring laugh that at least I won't have to pay a co-payment anymore!
P.s. I hope you are still working on the stock market for your family and friends. We all could use your help : )
Peace be with you my friend...

It is horribly sad to think that such a great man died so young. I remember when he was right out of school and working at WMG. I was a patient of Dr. Vis and my father of Dr. Brandon. I had watched my father have something cancerous removed from his face by him, when it came time for my treatments Dr. Brandon spent months every week taking care of me an hour at a time. He did it in such a way that I never knew that it was uncommon or how truly frusturated he must have been. I remember afterwards we would go to his office where he would give me some kind of candy. The bond that he had with his patients was amazing. I remember seeing pictures of his wife and son on his desk and how proud he was of his little family. Thank you for you patients Dr. Brandon and God Bless you and your family.

Like many others I have been a patient of Dr.Brandons for a good 20 years. I found him after deciding a needed a better doctor then the one I had at the time. One who would listen to me. Boy, did I luck out! I never minded the wait in his office because I knew that he was taking his time with others the same way he took his time with me. He was one in a million.
My heart goes out to his family.

Wow....where to begin. As I read all of the entries I shake my head and laugh because I can picture Dr. Brandon doing all of those things (I wish I had seen him in the Snow White costume!!!). I just found out that Dr Brandon passed away and I am stunned and devastated. It seems as if I've been a patient of his most of my life. I started in Webster and followed him around to his various locations until he ended up in Penfield. Roughly 20 years of my life Dr B has been my physician. He's helped me through all kinds of situations with humor and kindness. I will never forget my last visit. I had an EKG done and he looked at it and said "You do have a heart and I have the proof!" He joked that it was too bad I didn't have this proof for Valentine's Day! I was going through a really difficult situation and he made me laugh! He will be greatly missed and my heart goes out to Julie and Robbie. I've heard so much about you through the years. He was an AMAZING man and I can't imagine having anyone else as my doctor. Thanks for all you've done Dr B! PS: Dr B. I know what you were trying to get me to realize and I've been working on it! I was hoping to be able to come in and tell you that I'd followed your advice and that things are much better. Guess you will have to see for yourself. Rest in peace.....

My condolences to the Brandon family. Dr. Brandon will be missed by many...family, friends, & patients. He was always very compassionate and thoughtful when meeting with me or my wife. He always took his time to talk with me as a person and not just another patient. He was a class act in and out of the office. Dr. Brandon's passing is a lost for the entire community. My thoughts & prayers are with his wife and family at this sad time.

What a loss to so many families. I brought my 89 year old Mom to him (Bernice Eckert) about 3 years ago after being sorely disappointed in her care following a heart attack. He spent so much time with her I was astounded. He was patient, passionate in his profession and had a marvelous sense of humor. Very able to calm and reassure my Mom who feared many medical procedures. I spoke to so many saying I had never met a doctor like him! He treated with dignity and care. Praying for his family and and those in practice with him as surely they feel this loss tremendously. There definitely won't be another Dr. Brandon! Continuing in prayer for his loved ones. We have the greatest respect and caring for Dr Brandon. He became our Doctor at the Webster practice and has remained. He literally saved my husbands live by getting him to the hospital and operating on him that very same day. We are so grateful for his loving care all these years. We will never find that warmth and kindness in another doctor. He was the best. May the Brandon family find strength and love in the arms of God.

I met Dr. Brandon more than 20 years ago. I became a patient of his in Webster, I followed him from office to office knowing a good doctor when I found one. I continued with him until I moved to Wilmington. He was a real people doctor and I would gladly wait to see him for more than an hour if necessary. His passing is a shock to me and for many.

As I read through the other entries, they all reiterate exactly my feelings. Dr. Bob was such a caring man and doctor, he will never be replaced. He fixed problems I didn't even know I had. My family followed him from Webster and he cared and spent so much time with each of us, I know that is a rarity it today's times. The smile on his face will not be forgotten. My prayers to his family. Dr. Bob will be very sadly missed by a great many people.

Dr Brandon was one of the most caring doctors I have ever met. He helped not only my mom pass on, but helped our family deal with the grief. We had many conversations about doing stained glass, something both him and I loved to do. He will be greatly missed, but is in good company with my mother.

It is with deep sadness that I learned of the death of Dr. Bob. He has been my physician for 20 years and I will always remember his ready smile and undivided attention. He often spoke of his son and was so proud of his jazz playing. I will always remember how he called me, four years ago, after the sudden death of my husband, and gave me kind words and encouragement. He will be greatly missed.

I personally was not a patient but my niece Bristal and Bailee were and I have had the opportunity to meet Dr. Brandon when bringing Bailee in to see him. Such a great sense of humor and so good with Bailee who at the time was a teenager.

With Bristal's disabilities and him being her doctor since birth, I know it will be a great loss to the family who trusted him with her general medical care.

God Bless your family.

Bob Brandon was one of the really good physicians at RGH - caring, intelligent, connected to those around him. In the MICU we appreciated the extra time he spent visiting with his patients, even when he did not "have to."

June 18, 2011

I am so sorry for your loss, Julie & Robbie. Dr. Brandon has been my families physician since when he arrived in Webster. We were new to Rochester in the early 1990's and Dr. B. was the only Doctor we knew. My family appreciated all his efforts. I always told him that I did not mind waiting for him when he was running behind. Because he would put his attention to me when I needed it. He asked me if I would tell his staff that because they would tell him he needed to move to the next patient. I am deeply saddened by the loss of Dr. B. he was the best.

We arrived to Penfield seven years ago and began seeing Dr. Brandon as our family physician. We found him to be gentle, caring, and full of practical advice. He had a unique knack for making the complex simple and easy to understand. We will miss him. He is the best doctor we ever had.

All of us at Rochester General Hospital are deeply saddened by this loss. Bob was the perfect caring physician; nor only highly skilled in his knowledge of medicine but deeply compassionate toward his patients and their problems--the hallmark of a great physician. He was a role model for us, and his kind and caring nature will be greatly missed.

In 2005 I was blessed to find Dr. Brandon as my Internist and my Dad, who was 97 at the time. He even came to Dad's House on two (2) occasions just to treat him. The second time, when my Dad turned 100, he brought his Son Robbie w/him so he could meet one of his "100 Year Old" Patients. Dr. Brandon was special and he was "one of a kind". May God hold him in the hollow of his hand 'til we meet again - Part of an IRISH BLESSING, Donna K Morreale

Dr. Brandon has been our family pyhsician for 18 years. I found him one day when the Webster office was extemely busy. The next time I ended up seeing him was because he was the only Dr.in Webster that would see my son Brandon (Robert). Dr.Brandon saw him on his lunch break besides. When the visit was finally over I thanked him several times he joked that next time I should just bring him lunch. I was so touched that he would see my son on his lunch break that I did bring him lunch! That was to begin our journey with Dr.Brandon. He knew that our family thought the world of him because I told him so. He often teased and said that I named my middle child Brandon Robert after him. Dr. Brandon has seen me through some personal challenges as well as some tragic events in the family. He was an advocate for my children's education and was always there to type up any notes to back them for services needed. I decided you didn't have to be a pediatrician to be a child's doctor. Dr. Brandon did business with us as well. When I heard the news of his accident I became shocked, lost, sad and then angry. Angry that God would take away such a wonderful man. I then realized that God let us have the gift of Dr. Brandon in our lives. Perhaps it was time to give Dr. Brandon a gift. The gift of being with our lord. Don't be sad, know that he is still with us if you just look around. You will see the signs. Julie and Robbie you will be in my thoughts and prayers. I know what a great loss he is to everyone in the extended family and staff (family) as well. To Dr. Brandon's parents you must be so proud to have raised such a wonderful son and gifted doctor. I feel as though I am grieving the death of a family member not my doctor because he was'nt the average Dr. neither were his staff.

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who has been blessed to have known Dr. Brandon.

I too have known and been a patient of Doctor Brandon for over 20 years. I loved him so much that I told all my friends to see if he could take another patient. Like so many here are saying, he would pull up a chair and really listen to you, yes he was always behind in his appointments, but that was because he CARED so much, he really took the time with each of his patients. I feel a tremendous lost...I really find it hard to believe that I have to find someone new. Because there was only ONE Doctor Brandon. My deepest sympathy to the family

The shock of Dr. Brandons' death is shattering. He was truly a "one in a million" doctor. He would wave his hand at us as he walked through the waiting room with a huge smile on his face and yell," Hi Carla!" He would greet you with a handshake and another huge smile as he entered the room you waited an hour in! Dr. Brandon will live on in our hearts and memories.

Dr. Brandon had only been my physician for the past six years. I found him when I was looking for a doctor when my doctor of 30+ years had passed away. I was very fortunate to find such a passionate and caring doctor. As everyone has mentioned, he always came in with a smile and a handshake, always asked how you were and what you wanted to talk about. He always took all the time you needed to answer all of your questions and explain everything, and never rushed your appointment. My deepest sympathy to his family and his staff. He will truly be missed.

I worked for Dr. Brandon for three years. Dr. Brandon and his wife Julie cared for their staff. I wasn't treated like some employee, I was treated like a person. He was a wonderful and funny person who always took the time to listen. No matter how crazy his schedule got he would make time for each and every person he came in contact with. That is something that is hard to find. I know that no words can express the feeling of loss but I want to express my condolences to Julie and Robbie. May God take care of him now as he watches over you.

I met Dr. Brandon in my twenties at the Barrett Road practice in Webster, NY and have followed him ever since. He cared for my daughter and my mother as well. He was a brilliant doctor with a very personable manner. He was kind and compassionate, and when he felt like you were having any type of physical or personal struggle, he took the extra time needed to truly "listen" and offer kind words of advice. To say I am going to miss him is an understatement. I am still in shock and cannot believe he is gone. I will miss him greatly. After reading other people's experiences with him, it made me realize what I already knew...he was a gift to the medical community and a great man. Julie, Robbie and staff, I am so sorry for your loss. He will be greatly missed.

I found Dr. Brandon shortly after moving to Rochester. After the initial "get to know me" appointment, I can remember thinking wow... does he care about and spend this much time with everyone? I called my mom to tell her how great he was. He was with me in the best of times and he saved me in the worst. I'm so sorry for everyone who feels as I do. My heart goes out to his family and to the wonderful people trying to carry on at his practice. Although I'm still in shock, I feel so very fortunate for the time I had with him. He made the world a better place and I feel truly blessed to have been put in his path.

after reading all the wonderful words, I wanted to share my last appointment..I had seen Amy and left the office( of course I received a Dr Bob hug)I stopped at the store and was hit by a car backing up, I called the office and they had me come right back, Dr. Bob saw me in tears and immediately dropped everything to see what he could do, the whole time cracking jokes trying to make me smile..He even offered at one point to take me home and get my meds for me.. He basically carried me to my car to wait for my ride, and as I looked out the window I kept seeing him peek out checking on me. When I got home there were two messages from him, making sure I had gotten home and was ok. That was the kind of man and Doctor he was..nothing was ever to much to do for a patient in need. God has surrounded himself with one of his greatest creations Robert J. Brandon.

Dr Bob was the Doctor for my entire family (5 generations worth), he has stood by us through every difficulty from births, illness's and deaths. His kind caring manner was beyond, good bed side manner, it was friendship and true caring. God give us all the strength to appreciate the great man we were blessed to call our friend.

I knew Dr. Brandon when he was in Webster Health Center working for Dr. Cook. He not only became my Doctor, but he also became one of my best friends. He was so easy to talk to and so understanding and no matter how long you had to wait to see him, once he walked through the door with his big smile and ready to shake your hand, he was well worth waiting for. I remember when Dr. Brandon opened up his own office in Fairport/Penfield and I was sitting in the waiting room and an elderly lady came in with her husband and asked me if I thought Dr. B would be a good doctor for them...well, I couldn't stop talking about how much she will feel like he is part of her "family". He just had a way to make everyone feel "special".
Julie and Robbie, I have heard so many wonderful stories about living in Williamson and the great vacations you all took together and I will never forget what a wonderful person and friend that Doctor Brandon was. There will never be another doctor that cares more for his patients/friends than Dr. Brandon did. He will always be in my heart and will forever be missed. I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers go out to you and your families.

Our family was also one of Dr. Brandon's first patients and no matter where he went we followed. He has not only been the most caring doctor but has been there for us thru many difficult times, a loving shoulder to cry on. No one will ever be able to replace him.
Our sincere condolences to his wife and son, as well as to his extended family.

I met "Dr. Bob" 4 years ago while helping with a weekend teen retreat for the Church of the Assumption in Fairport. He had wonderful insights about faith, and I always enjoyed conversations with him. The teen retreats won't be the same without him.

Robbie, you and your family are in my prayers.

Dr. Bob, may the angels lead you into Paradise and present you to God the Most High.

Dr. Brandon has been our family physician since our 15-year old was born. He never walked into the exam room without a big smile on his face. He always made me feel like we were his only patients that day; he would spend as much time as we needed, answering questions, etc. We will miss him deeply.

I was fortunate enough to be a patient of Dr. Bob's and an employee of Dr. Bob's over the years. I think my favorite memories are those from when I was preparing for my wedding (at 21) and I was so nervous and he'd tell me funny stories to crack me up so I wouldn't be so nervous about things. Back in the days of GHS out in Crosskeys. I can't believe you're gone, Bob. Julie and Robby my thoughts and prayers are with you. God Bless.

My husband and I had only been going to Dr. Brandon for about 2 years. He was THE BEST Doctor we had ever met. He truly cared about his patients. He would give us his time, explain everything in great detail, even make a few jokes!! He never made us feel foolish for any problems we were having. I only wish we had found him sooner. He will be greatly missed by everyone. Our sincere condolences go out to his entire family and practice at this very difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dr. Brandon was so professional and up on every and anything you could question him on. Visits to the Dr. were never something dreaded, you would always look forward to his passion and concern for your health. One day I said "I just love picking your brain about medical things"
His reply was "yeah but now it's empty"

I can't even imagine the depth of
sorrow his family and staff are going through. May God be with all of you through this horrible loss. I know he is in a better place.
My prayers are with all of you. Joanie Strowe (Pittsford, NY)
