Ruth Provenzano Obituary
Rochester: On 9 September 2011, Ruth Provenzano was passed lovingly from the arms of her children into those of her husband Eddie and son Edward, who escorted the 1936 May Queen of Brockport College (carrying a bouquet of gardenias) to Heaven. Her long and selfless life is celebrated by her children Ann Lapine, Peter O. (Holly) Provenzano, and Carla Provenzano; her grandchildren Peter E. Provenzano, Eddy, Katya, John Carlos, and Emilia Metidieri, Misha, Edward, Andrei, and Max Lapine; her great-grandchildren Felix, Sidney, Tommy, and Jackson Lapine; many extended family members; extraordinary friends Connie Petit and Michael Posato; and Linda DeCarlis, whose love and caregiving made it possible for Ruth to remain in her home on the lake for 16 of the last 17 years of her life.
We would like to express our soulfelt gratitude to the entire staff of 4 North at The Episcopal Church Home. These skillful, empathetic, beautiful people enabled our mother to live her last year on Earth in peace and with dignity. Words cannot begin to express our appreciation and affection for each and every one of you.
At the end of her life, Ruth's final gift was the donation of her body to the UR Medical Center Anatomical Gift Program. Her memorial service will be announced at a later date. Please go out of your way today to do something wonderfully selfless in Ruth's memory.
We delight in knowing that in Heaven, each and every evening for eternity, our mother, grandmother, and friend Ruth will be announcing for all to hear...

Carla: I don't know what I did wrong, but I signed this the other day and it does not appear, as you said. However, I offer my very deepest sympathy to you, Ann, Peter and all the kids. Ruth, my Godmother, was a doll and I fondly remember her and Eddie coming over each year to celebrate my birthday. I have a prayer book by my bed that they gave me many years ago and I cherish it. To the whole family, we are so sorry to hear of Ruths passing .She was a wonderful person and we have nothing but pleasant memories of her. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. It seems like just yesterday we were at my baby shower for Gio sitting in a circle around Mrs. P while she made us all laugh with her hilarious stories of her youth. That inner youth remained a constant in her latter years, as well as a wonderful sense of humor (as Marilyn stated) that has been passed down through the generations.
