Sidney G. Strasenburgh

Spencerport - Thursday, March 21, 2019, at age 78. Predeceased by his parents, George and Anne Strasenburgh, Marian Carson Strasenburgh. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Judith (Smith) Strasenburgh; sons, Michael (Tina) Strasenburgh, Todd Strasenburgh of PA; grandchildren, Ian and Abigail Strasenburgh; brother, David (Sandy) Strasenburgh; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Smith, Joann Smith; niece, Sheila (Michael) Laabs.

Mr. Strasenburgh graduated from Colgate University in 1962 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and also played baseball and lacrosse at Colgate. He was a volunteer fireman with the Morton Fire Company. He had a long career in banking at Central Trust and M & T Bank, and also worked at DeCarolis Truck Rental. After retirement, has was an auditor at High Falls Advisors and for Monroe Transportation. He was a board member at Newtex Industries, YMCA of Greater Rochester, DeCarolis Truck Rental and the Board of Assessment for the Town of Ogden. He served as an Army reservist for many years. He was a lifelong Syracuse basketball, Buffalo Bills and New York Yankee fan. Sid was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all.

Friends may call SUNDAY from 2-6PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Rd., Gates. On Monday, March 25, all are invited to attend his funeral services at 11:00 at Morton Baptist Church, 1152 County Line Rd., Morton, NY. Interment, Mt. Albion Cemetery, Albion, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Northwest Family YMCA, 730 Long Pond, Rochester, NY 14612 or to Morton Baptist Church in his memory.

Mike and Todd, we were shocked to read about your Dad. We are so very sorry for your loss. We are in SC visiting our son, so will not be able to extend our condolences in person. We lived on Kirkgate and now on Laurelcrest. I used to visit your Mom at your house when you were very young. We remember your Dad as being outgoing and personable.

The Campbell's are very saddened to her of Mr Strasenburgh's passing. As his son's extended family in Erie, PA we know what a great father and role model he was for Todd and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be greatly missed and the crowd at Ralph Wilson stadium won't be as loud without him.
