Theodore Case Obituary

Case, Theodore "Ted"

Rochester: Theodore Ted Case, 83, completed his final rotation around the sun on 05/31/2017, after a brief bout of pneumonia. He is predeceased by his beautiful daughter, Margaret Mary and by his beloved wife, of 58 years, Catherine. He is survived by his sister, Margie Gores and by his children; Theo (Mei), Chris (Cindy), Anne (Dennis), and Dan. His stellar grandchildren, Amanda (Bill), Nathan, Lydia, Kevin, Caitlin, Cal, Dean, Nicholas and great grandchildren, Finn, Silas, Weston, Liam, his nephew Jim (Beth) Stewart, along with several nieces and nephews.

Theodore served in the Army over seas from 5/14/53-4/25/55. He was honorably discharged in April of 1961.

He started working at the Democrat & Chronicle as a copy boy and joined the reporting staff after graduating St John Fisher College in 1958. He worked as an editor until his retirement after 47 years.

He was an avid photographer documenting his family and scenes from his travels. He had a passion for cars, sailing, and traveling the world with Catherine and family. He enjoyed the fine arts, & loved telling anecdotes & jokes to whomever would listen.

As per his request, his body was donated to the University of Rochester anatomical donation program.

In lieu of flowers: One may make an online donation at urmc.rochester.edu. Click on anatomical gift program then select make a gift.

The family will hold a private memorial at a later date.
