Rochester: September 26, 2008. Predeceased by 1st wife, Veola Smith and son, Tom N. Smith, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Carol B. Smith; 6 sons, Jonathan (Cathy) Smith of Rochester, NY, Haywood (Cassie) Smith of St. Louis, MO, James (Eula) Smith of Rochester, NY, Rev. S.L. (Brenda) Smith of W. Memphis, AR, Rev. T.C. (Cynthia) Smith, Rev. Tyrone (Rose) Smith all of Rochester, NY; 5 daughters, Bernice (Robert) Wallace of W. Memphis, AR, Zellie (Roy) Boone of Dothan, AL, Ernestine Holmes, Rev. Beatrice (Rev. Norman) Roberts and Cornelia (Henry) Washington, all of Rochester, NY; host of grand, great-grand, great-great-grand and great-great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.
Rev. Smith will lie in state Friday, 6-9 PM, at Pentecostal Memorial Baptist Church, 382 Central Park. Funeral Service, Saturday, 11 AM at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 351 Joseph Avenue. Rev. Dr. Harmon E. Stockdale, Officiating. Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery.
