Bill and Maura were dear friends for many years. Bill was one of the few teachers in the"advanced Freshman English class" who actually gave us more challenging assignments. I last saw them on the day of our 50th anniversary (Class of '62) and Bill gave me a shirt since my luggage had been delayed. It was to be my last sight of them, though on leaving it was evident to all I would never see Maura again. Loved them both!

I had 3 years of Latin an accelerated English class with Mr. Kehoe. In the latter class, he gave out a list of great writers and very good ones. I took it to the Rochester Public Library and read the complete works of one author after another - Jane Austin, Tolstoy, Bronte sisters, Hemingway and on and on. What a rich and lasting classical education in itself. It has influenced my whole life. And of course, I did have an awful crush on him ? Hope he is in heaven now. God Bless you.

Your Mom and Dad were some of my dearest friends during HS at Penfield. At our 50th reunion he lent me a shirt for dinner as my baggage hadn't caught up. I remember touching your Mom's hand as I left, knowing I probably wouldn't see her again. They were special people!

Very glad I had a chance to reconnect with Bill, briefly, before he passed, and I will never forget him, and all the times he was there for me. He was the most kind and giving person I have ever known.

Dr. Kehoe was a wonderful teacher who inspired and truly cared about us students of University of Ryukyu's. He was a visiting professor assigned to Okinawa, Japan from 1982 until 1984.
We are very saddened by the loss of our beloved teacher. Some of the class of 1985 English-majored students had reunions in Tokyo and Nago, Okinawa this October. Attached is a card prepared by the students for Dr. Kehoe in hopes of delivering to him.

Dr. Kehoe was a wonderful teacher who inspired and truly cared about us students of University of Ryukyu's, Okinawa Japan.
He was a visiting professor for a two year assignment sponsored by the Ministry of Education of Japan.
We are very saddened by the loss of our beloved teacher and would like to dedicate messages from some students who had reunions in Tokyo and Okinawa, Japan in Oct. of this year.
We have attached a memory card signed by the students who were hoping to deliver him the message at the time of reunion.

To all the Kehoe children and on behalf of the hundreds of his de facto adopted children, his many students, let me say how truly blessed we were to have such a great teacher, as Bill was blessed with such a loving wife. We miss them! Bill taught me three years of Latin, two years of Russian, and a year of English at Penfield High School and inspired me ultimately to become a high school teacher after 32 years in International Banking. We spent many happy hours together not only in upstate New York but in Okinawa and Korea where he was teaching and later working as a school psychologist. He continues to live on in the memories of all he touched.

Bill and Maura, together again, were shining if not guiding lights during our graduate school days in linguistics at the University of Rochester; our cohort students and faculty alike was and remained exceptionally close. Despite our paths not crossing in person after those halcyon days, Bill never failed to keep in touch passing on news and personal reflections, rallying the troops (so to speak) and rattling cages, ever since then a half century of continuing delight. By any measure, and with a tip of the hat to his service during the Korean conflict (in the words of M*A*S*H's Hawkeye Pierce), Bill was "finest kind".
RIP, Bill, you certainly deserve it.

I remember Mr. Kehoe well as he tried to make Shakespeare accessible to me and my friends. Many of us (particularly me) were most reluctant learners! I made his teaching more challenging I'm sure but he did manage to meet his goal as I came to love the problem solving puzzle that extracting meaning from the Elizabethan playwright demanded of my immature brain. I even managed (amazing to imagine at the time) to make a long 40+ year career of teaching myself. My thoughts are with all members of Bill's family and friends in this time of sadness.

During the difficult time of loss Kehoe family may the love from the God of all comfort make your hearts firm while you trust in him for support and strength as you mourn the loss of your loved one. (2 Thessalonians 2: 16,17) May I extend my sincere condolences to the family.
