Z. Chrzan Obituary
West Henrietta - Passed away on October 29, 2020, at the age of 73. Predeceased by his parents, Wiktor and Kazimiera Chrzan; and beloved dog, Austin. Survived by his sisters, Mary Figler and Loretta (Philip) Chrzan-Williams; nieces and nephews, Mike (Sarah), Jim (Tammy), Brad (Melanie), Katie (Chris) and Josh (Lindsi); great-nieces & great-nephews; and a community of friends & neighbors.
Roman worked as a Senior Technical Associate for 29 years in the Optical Manufacturing Group within the University of Rochester's Engineering Division at the Laboratory for Laser Energetics. In that role, Roman operated a 72" vacuum chamber that manufactured high-damage threshold, thin film optics used to build LLE's OMEGA and EP lasers located in Rochester NY, the NIF laser located in Livermore CA, and the LMJ laser located in France.
Friends may call on THURSDAY from 2 - 4 PM at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. (3325 Winton Road South), where Roman's Memorial Service will follow at 4 PM in The Interfaith Chapel of the funeral home. In observance of New York State mandated restrictions, visitations are limited to 30 people inside at one time and services are limited to 40 people inside at one time. Roman was a cornerstone of eagle ridge as was Austin. I moved away two years ago but sad to hear of Roman passing. As Roman walked Austin in the neighborhood he always would ask me how I was doing after my husband passed. Before my pup Abby had passed he made sure to stop for a quick wag of Austin and Abbys’ tails. Rest In Peace

We had the pleasure of meeting Roman 16 years ago when we moved into the neighborhood. We always enjoyed our talks with him as he strolled by our house with Austin. He always waved and smiled as I drove by his house . He will surely be missed his smile was uplifting. You're in our thoughts sincerely the Smiths 102 covered wagon.
