I'm deeply saddened to hear about your loss. Dan, who I believe was known as "Tuberale" on the Treasurenet forum, a community for treasure hunting and metal detecting enthusiasts, made a remarkable impact with his vast knowledge of the history, legends, and stories of the Pacific Northwest. His contributions were always enlightening, and I, along with many others, looked forward to reading his insights. His ideas and thoughts will remain a valuable source of inspiration and knowledge.

So sorry to see this obituary for Dan. We worked with him for many, many years at the Oregonian. We’ll remember his mischievous wit and grin.
Our sincerest condolences.

Dan and I worked at The Oregonian. We enjoyed talking genealogy and shared information about our Oregon pioneer families. He was great with computer research and that helped him expand his family tree. His face would light up when he saw me in the lunchroom and I knew he had news about another relative on his tree. That smile is what I remember. My condolences to his family.
