Jo Cleta "Jody" Ramey
December 9, 1929 - December 27, 2023
Jo Cleta "Jody" Ramey, 94, a long time resident of Sweet Home passed on December 27, 2023 in Lebanon. She was born in Minco, Oklahoma, December 9, 1929 to Earl and Mabel (Odom) Cheek. She attended Elementary School and graduated from High School in Gilchrist, Oregon.
She married James Ramey September 26, 1947 in Bend, Oregon. They lived and raised their three children in Sweet Home, Oregon. She worked as a waitress and dress shop clerk in her early employment days and retired after many years with Wells Fargo Bank.
Jody enjoyed water skiing, riding 4-wheelers and being with her grandchildren. She was an active member of the Sweet Home Elks.
She is survived by daughter Bonnie (Don) Gould of Reedsport, sons: Randy (Barbara) Ramey of Wickenburg, Arizona, Steve Ramey of Creswell. Brother, Richard (Pat) Cheek, sisters: Barbara (Eldon) Pearce, Roberta (Bob) Chapman and long time friend and sister-in-law Jesse Cheek-Joyce all of Sweet Home, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mabel, husband James, sister Betty Mink, brothers Don and Jimmy Cheek.
