Katie Lynne Fisher Gray
October 10, 1977 - January 25, 2022
A bright light was extinguished when Katie Lynne Fisher Gray died suddenly of an unknown cardiac arrhythmia. Katie was 44 years of age and a beautiful person inside and out.
Katie was born in Corvallis, Oregon, and spent her childhood and youth there. She attended the Corvallis Public Schools, a year at Willamette University, and several years at Oregon State University. Katie was a vibrant person who made friends easily and kept them for life. She was an excellent student and a superb athlete. She played all sports growing up but focused primarily on soccer. She received All State honors as a soccer player and after graduation from Crescent Valley High School attended Willamette University on a soccer scholarship. When a devastating injury ended her soccer career she transferred to Oregon State University where she majored in biology and natural resources.
After her schooling, she adventured southeast to Richmond, Virginia, and Millegeville, Georgia, where she explored southern culture, helped raise her niece and nephew and worked in many essential aspects of popular local restaurants, making friends constantly along the way!
After the birth of her son, Noah Haislip, Katie returned to Corvallis where she raised Noah and was able to be near family. Scott Gray entered Katie and Noah's lives when he traveled to Corvallis from Bacup, England, to coach youth soccer. For the next several years, Scott, Katie, and Noah traveled back and forth between England and Oregon, beginning a love story of soulmates finding each other and creating an absolutely beautiful life together. They married on January 21, 2013. The family moved to Bacup, England knowing home was wherever they are together. Scott comes from a large, loving family which welcomed Katie and Noah into their hearts and homes with open arms!
Their years in Bacup were filled with love, travel, and adventure. They were able to visit many interesting and historical sites in Europe; buy and renovate a comfortable and gracious home; and enjoy family outings and gatherings with the extended Gray Family. Four year old Marcus was born to Scott and Katie in England and he joined Scott, Katie, teenaged Noah, and two dogs seamlessly. Katie had resumed her education at Burnley College in Pre-nursing and had been accepted to Salford University in Manchester into the professional nursing program. This was put on hold due to the birth of Marcus, with plans to continue once he was in school.
Katie made friends wherever she went, and to a person they would comment on her ability to make each of them feel special; on her radiant smile; on her lovely eyes; and especially on her warm and loyal heart. Katie was a wonderful friend, daughter, sister, aunt, wife, and mother. She will be missed, and each person who was privileged to know her will hold her memory in their heart forever!
Katie is survived by her loving husband, Scott Gray; by her sons, Noah Haislip and Marcus Gray; by siblings, Amy (Bob) Buckhouse Harr, Jim (Stephanie) Buckhouse, Matt (Laci) Fisher, Kyla (Will) Humphreys, and Kim (Wade) Bronson; and parents, Vicki and John Buckhouse and Glenn and Diane Fisher; her surviving family in England include mother and father-in-law, Brian and Julie Gray; and Scott's siblings, David Gray; Laura (Dave) Martin; and Lindsey Gray; There is, in addition, a host of Gray, Buckhouse, Fisher, Martin, Fay, Robbins, and Simon aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life is planned for April 22, 2022, from 3 to 6 p.m., at the OSU Alumni Center in Corvallis. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Corvallis Public Schools Foundation, CVHS Girl's Soccer, 1555 SW 35th St., Corvallis, OR 97333.

I remember seeing Katie again as an adult at Timberhill Athletic Club and loved visiting and catching up with our lives. As a good friend of our daughter, I had the opportunity to watch Katie grow up and graduate from High School. Her athletic abilities were outstanding. I will always remember her bright eyes and beautiful smile and loving heart.
I am thankful Kathie found love and happiness in her life and lived her life with passion.

Katie you always had an incredible vibe of energy. You were fierce teammate on the pitch. Taking headers with no fear. May we all be lucky enough to play with you again were ever that pitch is. Cheers to you. And my many sympathies to your loving family. We lost a good one. Go Raiders. ( pic included is our senior year `94-95 league last game which sealed our #1 status. I´m not sure who started it, but my feeling it was Katie (2nd from right of pic) that with the help of Jennifer (right of Katie, left on pic) that slid in the mud to celebrate. (I´m second from left). It was a really special team with Katie as a key member as center mid.

When we think of Katie it´s of her around the age of ten or so hanging out with Stacey at our house.
We are so sorry for your loss and want you to know she will always be in our hearts and memories as a sweet and kind person and a good friend to our daughter.

Katie was dear to my heart as one of Annes special friends. Many a time she had sleep overs at Katie´s house always feeling welcome.
I was able to see Katie and Noah when they lived in Corvallis and was so happy she and Scott made a sweet life together. I am so sad her life was suddenly shortened and my condolences go to all family and friends.
