Timothy Reynolds Obituary

Timothy Wayne Reynolds

July 24, 1958 - January 9, 2024

Timothy Wayne Reynolds departed this life on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. He was next to the youngest of eight children born to the marriage of John Edward and Lettie Mae Reynolds. He is survived by his mother, Lettie Reynolds. Tim was born in Eugene, Oregon on July 24, 1958.

Tim was married to Julie Wood, and to this marriage, two children were born: Taylor and Nathan. He was also blessed with one gorgeous granddaughter, Sloan. Tim talked so much about Sloan prior to her birth and was able to see her prior to his death. He is survived by seven siblings: Janice, Sharon, Debbie, Don, Ron, Larry and Harold, and a large number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graduate of Corvallis High School, Tim's youth was marked by excellence in varsity football, basketball, and baseball. His passion for sports extended into adulthood, where he worked as a professional referee for football and basketball games, and as an umpire for baseball. He was a wonderful advocate for youth, and supported them through teaching, encouragement, counseling and correction. He also worked five years at Hewlett Packard.

Tim had a variety of interests and activities. He loved his Dallas Cowboys and Oregon State Beavers. He enjoyed watching Star Trek and his old westerns, Bonanza and Gunsmoke. For more than 40 years, you would find Tim playing pickup and competitive basketball. He also enjoyed gardening. For his sisters and brothers, Tim played a very important role in keeping us updated and on track for important family events. Tim was raised as a Christian and would often times read his bible. He was a bright shining star to those who came in contact with him and will truly be missed!

The family welcomes you to a celebration of Tim's life on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 12:00 pm till 2:00 pm at the First Congregational Church, 4515 SW West Hills Road, Corvallis, Oregon 97333. Casual or informal attire is encouraged. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Corvallis Boys and Girls Club in the name of Tim Reynolds.

Wow, so sad to see this. To Don, Ron, Larry and Harry: Tim was alway darting here and there when we were young, always a smile on his face. Seems he grew up as I knew him: kind, honest, lover of sports and youth. Gone too soon, RIP. Matt Soule

Tim made such an impact during his life: from Corvallis High School to The Boys and Girls Club, the Reynolds were and continue to be a huge presence in Corvallis. Tim and his brother, Ron, and sister, Sharon, were a part of my life and my son's, Noah, for so many years. Lettie, you're a wonderful mother and I always remember your laughter. Such a strong family held together by love and faith. Ron, you were always there for Tim. I was sad to hear that Tim passed. Life goes by so quickly. Noah, is 45 and when sharing memories of childhood, they include the Reynolds family (especially going to Seattle with Ron, Lettie and Mama T). My thoughts are with you and your family. Cathe

My thoughts and prayers are with the Reynolds Family. Even though I did not know Timothy, my dad, Wendell Waldon, who was an elementary principal in Corvallis, often talked about the Reynolds Family and how impressed he was with the family.
