Bobbie Joe Lang

Bobbie Joe Lang passed away peacefully in his sleep of natural causes at the age of 93 on October 29, 2021. He was born on February 8, 1928, in Era, Texas (Cooke County) to Carl Lester Lang and Essie Anderson Lang. He attended school in Slidell, Texas. After he graduated high school, he served in the Army for 2 years, then was in the Army reserves for 5 years. He married Georgia N. Blakely on January 6, 1953. They were married for 49 years before she preceded him in death on June 22, 2002. From their union came 2 children, Susan Lang Worth (Randy Worth) and Joe Lang (Xian Ping Ou Lang). After the Army, Bobbie worked for Armor & Company for about 2 or more years, was a farmer for at least 13 of which he also operated a dairy for about 2 years. He worked as a tool crib manager for LTV for 30 years, retiring in 1997. He lived in the Bolivar area (including Pilot Point, and Slidell) until he left farming and moved to North Richland Hills in 1968. He was an active member of the Church of Christ until an accident from a fall in 2014 which led to some memory loss and he was placed in a skilled nursing service facility.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Lester Lang and Essie Anderson Lang, sister Sue Lang Tennison, brothers Ray, Franklin (Mack), and Dale, niece Bonita Lang Zinsmeyer, nephew Darryl Lang, and great nephew Kyle Hentzen.

He is survived by his daughter Susan Lang Worth (Randy Worth), Joe Lang (Xian Ping Ou Lang), sister Billie Lang Glover, brother Jesse Lang, grandsons Nick Lang, Chris Worth, and Josh Lang, great grandsons Evan, Ben, Matthew, and great granddaughter Wynonna Worth and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, December 11 at 10:00am at Bolivar Cemetery. A Memorial Service will follow at the Sanger Church of Christ (400 Locust Street, Sanger, Texas) at 11:30AM.
