Bryan Gordon Burtch

BRYAN GORDON BURTCH, 91, of Denton, TX, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017. Bryan was born June 25, 1926 in Otego, NY to Oscar Burtch and Lillian Scaife Burtch Jones. Bryan received B.A. from Wheaton College 1947 and M.A. from Dallas Theological Seminary 1951. He married Shirley Fairbanks on June 13, 1954 in Lima, Peru. Bryan with his wife were linguists and missionaries with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Peru, Colombia, Panama and Aruba. Bryan was translator for the Murui Huitoto New Testament which was published in 1978. After retiring, he continued as a translation consultant.

Bryan is survived by his wife Shirley of Denton, his stepsisters Grace Fabian, Mary Macie and Kathryn Jones, his son Rod Burtch and daughter Phyllis Porter of Denton, his son Stanley Burtch of Villa Park, IL, his daughter Marilyn Burtch of Orange Park, FL, and six grandchildren, Eric Burtch, Dustin Burtch, Andy Burtch, Christina Burtch, Michael Porter and Heidi Alu.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday June 10, 2017 at Lake Shore Baptist Church 276 Hundley Dr. Lake Dallas with burial to follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton.
