Carol Jimenez Obituary

Carol Sue Reidel Jimenez

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Carol Sue Reidel Jimenez (82) on January 30, 2021. She was born in June 29, 1938 in Bellefontaine, OH, moved to Marion, OH when the war was over, moved to California in 1962, and met husband Richard in 1964. They were married for over 56 years, finally settling in Denton, TX.

Carol was fond of living in Bellefontaine and Marion, sharing many stories with her family and friends. She cherished her Grandpa and sweet Grandma Weller who was the best cook (Carol loved her sweet rolls with brown sugar and pecans!). Carol graduated from Pleasant High School in Marion, OH in 1956 along with her lifelong friend Marilyn Hale.

Additionally, Carol shared stories about going to church and sitting in the pew between her grandparents; canning fruit and veggies into applesauce, jams, and jellies and helping raise the pigs, cows, and ducks on the family farm; enjoying her musical pursuits (violin, trumpet, organ, drums, and piano) which brought her a lot of joy; listening to the Glenn Miller band, the Dorsey Brothers, and Harry James at Indian Lake; collecting family Weller Pottery of which her grandfather Don Weller was a member.

Carol loved to sew and knit and lovingly created handmade gifts for family and friends. We often received her incredible quilts, aprons, clothing, warm blankets, and adorable Christmas ornaments. This was a hobby she shared with her sister, Judy, and the two of them often sold their wares at the local markets.

Carol is survived by her adoring husband Richard; four loving daughters, Vicki (Ted) Schneider, Anna Jimenez (Christie), Raquel Keyes (Keith), Melody (Anthony) Gist; two sons (Mark and Doug (Bonnie) Beery); sixteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Fred (Marsha), Butch, and Judy (Mike). She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Carol was encircled by their love and kindness at the time of her death. To quote Carol "It is well with my soul"

Celebration of Life services will be held at a future date, at a time when it is safe to do so. We thank the nurses and doctors at Medical City Denton for taking such good care of our sweet and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
