Kevin McCormack Obituary

Kevin Kent McCormack

Kevin Kent McCormack passed away in Denton on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the age of 64 from a very rare blood cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Ken McCormack. He is survived by his wife and daughter Libby Camp McCormack and Ali McCormack, his sister and brother-in-law Cheryl and Art Espenas, his brother and sister-in-law Kelly and Cecelia McCormack, all of Denton...As well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins in North Texas whom he loved so dearly. Kevin also leaves behind many friends that meant the world to him.

Kevin was born in Denton in 1952, and Denton remained his home until God called him to his forever home in Heaven. After graduating from Denton High School in 1970, he began his journey as a master plumber which then evolved into a building contractor. He was admired by many because of his honest, conscientious, and impeccable work ethic.

After being good friends for most of their lives, Kevin and Libby later became soulmates and were married in 1975. Their world was changed forever and they were never happier than the day they brought their daughter, Ali, home in 1986. Kevin was able to live out his passion for sports through his daughter while guiding and coaching her in all of her athletic endeavors and helping her to pursue her dream of playing college softball. He coached many of Ali's softball teams, which included the Sluggers, Mudkats, and D Threat. All of the girls became a part of his family, and he was thrilled to see them succeed. His other passions were Music, Riding Harleys, Muscle Cars, Bar B Que, Cowboys and Rangers, Traveling with Family, and Golfing with his brother.

He was raised a Lutheran and member of St Paul Lutheran Church in Denton. He would later move to Denton Bible Church where he continued to grow in his faith.

To all of his family and friends, Kevin was larger than life, never called attention to himself and walked with a confidence that bolstered everyone around him. He never met a challenge he couldn't handle and made great efforts to help those that were struggling. All of his family would seek his advice on almost every big decision they had to make in life. His word was his bond and do it right the 1st time was his mantra. Above all, he was a loyal friend.

Services will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 3:00pm in the chapel of Denton Bible Church, 2300 E University Dr., Denton, TX 76209.
