Larry Hemphill Obituary
Larry Dwayne Hemphill, 81, of Denton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital. He was born on November 15, 1936 in Byers, KS, the youngest son of William Herman Hemphill and Audrey (Cline) Hemphill.
Larry earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Fort Hays State University, where he majored in Industrial Arts. He began his career as a teacher for the Kansas State School for the Blind in Carbondale and Salina, KS. He also taught Drivers Education around the state. He later moved to North Texas, where he managed a group marketing driving simulators for Doron Precision Systems. Larry eventually became involved with school and commercial bus sales, co-founding a Texas state distributorship with his wife, Elizabeth "Betsy" Hemphill. In retirement he continued farming in the North Texas area.
Larry is survived by Betsy, his son Mason Hemphill, of Reinholds, PA, his daughter Annie Zarcoff of Los Angelos, CA, and his son Allen Hemphill of Katy, TX. He also leaves behind three loving grandchildren, Kyle Hemphill of Philadelphia, PA, and Kelvin and Harper Hemphill of Katy, TX.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, a sister, Jewel Haning, and five brothers, John, Harry, Dale, Dean.

Uncle Larry will always be remembered as one who was fun, kind, loving and hospitable to his extended family whenever they took the time to head south to Texas. I remember attending the wedding of he and Betsy and meeting Mason and Annie at that time. Several years later I met Allen in Texas. I will always remember the grin and genuine smile he had, the generosity he showed each and every time we stopped to see him. The Dean Hemphill family sends their condolences to each and every one of you knowing you will greatly miss him.

Larry was Awesome, he loved to eat some Cracker Barrel and Chinese Food. We will miss him and I'm very sad he is gone, but never forgotten. If there is a Heaven he is Farming that great Hayfield in the Sky, that's for sure.
