Michael Hunn Obituary

Michael Clarke Hunn, 79, of Denton, passed away on August 12, 2024, in his home surrounded by his loving wife and daughters.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the Green Valley School in Aubrey, TX, located at 6960 FM 2153, where Michael assisted with the most recent restoration of this historic landmark.

Michael was born at Langly Air Force Base in Virginia on May 31, 1945, to Doloris and Clarke Hunn and was raised in Milwaukee, WI. He married his best friend, Donna, on December 24, 1975 in Marietta, OK. He was a Registered Nurse with a focus in geriatrics.

Michael served in the U.S. Army Combat Medic Corp in Vietnam where he received the Bronze Star and many other commendations. He was active in the Vietnam Veterans of America, chapter VVA 920, where he served as a mentor to veterans in the Veteran's Court program.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Doloris and Clarke, and his brother, Kevin Hunn. He is survived by his loving wife Donna, his daughter Kimberly Ovalle and her husband Leonardo of Schertz, TX, his daughter Amy Clayton and her husband Wes of Flower Mound, TX, his brother David Hunn and sister-in-law Joan of Lakewood, WA, and Kevin's wife Linda of DeSoto. WI. Michael is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Simmons Cancer Center at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Three Oaks Hospice for their loving care of Michael during his courageous battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VVA at VVA.org/donate/
