Rickey Curry

Rickey Curry, age 70, of Denton, Texas, passed away January 11, 2018 peacefully in his sleep. Rickey was born in Denton, July 19, 1947 to Celestine Bowman. He was raised by his beloved grandmother, Elizabeth Goodner Pratt and his grandfather, James (Gene) Edward Pratt. Rickey graduated from Fred Moore High School and attended the University of North Texas before joining the United States Air Force as a Military Policeman and a computer programmer. Rickey enjoyed music, reading and watching sports. Rickey is survived by his three brothers, Grayling, Michael, and Barry Jackson of Denver, Colorado, one aunt, Dorothy Antwine Thomas of New York (Mitchell), three nieces, Desencia E. Thomas, MD of Houston, Texas, Valencia D. Thomas, MD of Houston, Texas, Kimberly Thomas Benjamin, MD of New York and one great niece, Elizabeth Claire Thomas Benjamin of New York, first cousins Leonard Logan (Tootsie), John Logan (Shirley) of Denton, and Joe Kinney (Margaret) of Tulsa, Oklahoma and his loving family and faithful friends. Rickey is preceded in death by his mom, Celestine, grandmother, Elizabeth Pratt and his grandfathers, Gene Pratt and Billy Bowman of Dallas.

Family and friends can visit throughout the day, Friday January 26, 2018 at Peoples Funeral Home and Chapel. A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11am at Mt. Pilgrim CME. Burial will take place Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
