RICKY BURT Obituary

1953 - 2024

Rick released the trans-brake on life April 12, 2024, in Denton TX. Born in Brownfield, TX July 24, 1953, to Delbert Lee and Patsy Nowita (nee Sudduth) Burt, Rick spent his childhood in the West Texas town of Plains. He graduated from Gainesville High School and North Texas State University. A lifelong audiophile, Rick's music library contains over 1,200 albums of various genres. Always a fan of the "go fast", Rick's interests ranged from drag racing to NASA rockets. He retired from Peterbilt Motors Co. in August 2023 after 36 dedicated years.

Rick is survived by his wife Deborah Black, her son Christopher, wife Rebecca and grandsons Grayson and Emerson; his brother Edward Burt, wife Diane and nieces Emilee, Sera and Hannah, as well as numerous family and friends. Rick is predeceased by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charity. A remembrance gathering will be held at a later date.

"The road goes on forever and the party never ends." Rest in Peace, friend. Race in Paradise. You truly will be missed.
