Rose Harvey Obituary
Rose Mary (Whitaker) Harvey, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, went home to God on Thursday, February 28, 2019 in Denton, TX.
Rose was born in Lebanon, Indiana on October 27, 1949 to Donald Eugene Whitaker and Mary Avis (Adams) Whitaker. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1968, and from Ball State University in Muncie, IN with a bachelors degree and a masters degree.
Rose had a servants heart and was a lifelong educator, with her last teaching position at Flower Mound ISD prior to retirement.
As a member of Denton Bible Church for over 20 years, Rose spent many hours in study and in service. She also was a member of PEO and Mercy Heart, both serving the community.
She married the love of her life, the late Walter Ray Harvey on August 7, 1971 in Lebanon, IN. Rose was preceded in death by her husband Walter and her parents Donald and Mary Whitaker.
Rose is survived by her children, Mary Gabrielle (Robert) Gorrebeeck and Joshua Paul (Heather) Harvey; her grandchildren, Robert Allen Gorrebeeck III and Ryan Dexter Gorrebeeck; sister Melinda (Whitaker) Kizer and brother Cecil (Sue) Whitaker. She is also survived by nieces Kate (Whitaker) Campbell and Marissa Wills, and nephew Matthew Whitaker and their families.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 7, 2019 at DeBerry Funeral Directors with Rev. Michael Spencer officiating. A private interment will be held at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.

Dear Rose Mary's family,
We just learned of Rose Mary's home going today! We are so saddened, surprised and disappointed that we didn't know of her passing earlier. We have been good friends, neighbors and believers in Christ for over 30 years. She will be missed greatly and so sorry that we haven't been closer in miles the last few years. We want to share our love and deep sympathy to Josh, Heather, Mary (Gabby), and Bobby and grandchildren. I am heartbroken that we couldn't be there to share in the remembrance of our sweet friend. May our Lord bless you all!! Please know that we send our love and prayers to you all.

To Rose Mary's Family: My husband, Bob, and I have just learned that your Mom, Rose Mary, has gone "home" to be with the Lord. Please accept our loving sympathies for your family's great loss. We have only knew your Mom for two years, and she was such a sweet friend. She had just sent photos in January of her children and grandchildren, and we wanted to express our deepest condolences. We admired her life of faith, and the love she had for her family. God "is near to the broken hearted" and promises to comfort all who mourn. He was true to His Word when we lost each of our parents, and we know He will do the same for all of you as well. Oh how I will miss my friend Rose Mary we had fellowship almost every week. She was an amazing prayer warrior and had so many wonderful spiritual gifts. I could call her anytime and she was such an inspiration to me always encouraging, honest and true. God bless you Rose Mary so happy you are with the Savior and dancing and rejoicing like never before.
