Victoria Corum Obituary

Victoria Moya Corum

Victoria Moya Corum of Denton, Texas passed away on January 13, 2017 at the age of 67. She was born on June 23, 1949 to Meliton and Victoria (Gomez) Moya in Harlingen, Texas.

Vickie grew up in Raymondville, Texas and upon graduating from high school, went to college at Texas Woman's University. She graduated from TWU with a dual major in History and Education. Vickie suffered from syringomyelia and became a paraplegic in 1986 after a series of back surgeries. Despite the setbacks in her health, Vickie was fiercely independent and never complained. As a true testament to her strength, in 1992 she supported her family by taking a job as an administrative assistant at the University of North Texas. She stayed employed at UNT for 23 years until she retired in 2015. The only thing that equaled Vickie's strength was her love and dedication to her children and grandchildren.

Vickie is survived by her sons, Eric Corum and wife, Joanne of Georgetown, Texas, Aaron Corum and wife, Evelyn of Denton, Texas; daughter, Andrea Quiroz and husband, Carlos of Denton, Texas; grandchildren, Reed Corum, Annabelle Corum, Calvin Corum, Victoria Mills, Amelie Corum; brothers, Meliton Moya of Edinburg, Texas, Tony Moya of Richardson, Texas; sister, Mary Mouser of Kingwood, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on February 18th in Raymondville, Texas. To offer condolences or sign an online registry, please visit TJMFuneral.com.
