Alice E. Mendrick

1924 - 2018

Alice E. Mendrick, a long time Pueblo resident died peacefully surrounded by her family, on November 16th, 2018, in Golden, Colorado. Alice was 94 years old, born August 13, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois. Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Joseph, her mother Mae Laycock and brother Henry Jilek. Alice enjoyed gardening and was proud of her prize winning tulips. Her true love was that of being a homemaker and insuring that her family was well taken care of. Alice loved her family as no other. That was her calling. Alice loved life. Her home was always full of love and laughter and open to all of our friends. Alice had a special heart for the downtrodden, those that "were the least among us", handicapped, hungry, disabled veterans and the homeless. Alice will be greatly missed by her daughter Nancy Karlinger (Rick), her sons Paul and John (Vivian) and foster son's Joe and Les (Patty Jo) Brown. Alice was loved and will be missed by six grandchildren, Tim, Lori and Derek Karlinger. Paul (PJ) Mendrick Jr., Jennifer (Karim) Azad and Cherish (Brian) Mendrick. Greatgrandchildren Tanner Karlinger and Steven and Rachel Azad. She leaves us with the most beautiful memories. Our hearts are broken...but full, knowing that she is now at peace, with her family and in the hands of our Lord. We are eternally grateful that God blessed us by making her our Mom. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 1985 Miller St., Lakewood, Colorado 80215 on Thursday, November 29, 2018. The Rosary will be at 10:15 AM with Mass following at 11:00 AM. A reception will be at the church following services.
