Ann Jansson Obituary

Jansson, Ann
06/02/1945 - 03/21/2023

Ann Cozad Jansson of Parker, Colorado, passed peacefully at home on March 21st, 2023 at the age of 77, following a long illness. Ann was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 2nd, 1945 where she was adopted by her beloved parents, the late William and Dorothy Cozad. She was a Kansas City debutante before graduating from Sunset Hill High School in Kansas City in 1963, then went on to study French at Vassar College. Ann was taking summer courses in archaeology at the University of New Mexico when she met James R. Jansson; they were married in August of 1966 in Kansas City. Ann was a supportive Navy wife for five years before settling with Jim in Denver, Colorado. There she served with the Junior League of Denver for many years, fulfilling roles as treasurer for the Holiday Mart and the Denver chapter. Ann's greatest role was as mother and grandmother and "adopted mom" to countless friends of her children. She was an avid reader, gardener, knitter, archaeology and history buff, adorer of music, anime fan, and player of computer and video games. She will be forever missed by her husband, Jim, her daughter Julia (Simpson), her son Jay, her son-in-law Steven, her daughter-in-law Lorie, and her granddaughter Mackenzie. Ann will be laid to rest at the Parker Cemetery in Parker, Colorado, in a private ceremony. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to SLC6A1 https://slc6a1connect.org/ or WildAnimalSanctuary.org.

Ann had a way of making you feel like part of her family without even trying. She cared about everyone she interacted with and always wanted to keep up with what they were doing. Im so lucky to have known her for so long. She cared not only about me, but my family, and especially my son, which meant so much to me. Ann was one of a kind and time spent with her will always be a treasured memory.

From the song "We are family" Ann was our "family jewel" from the first moment that Jim brought her to meet us.

My sweet Auntie, thank you for the countless memories. Your rapier wit and unmistakable laugh will be with me for the rest of my days. Thinking of you will always bring a smile to my face, and most likely a giggle. I'm so lucky to have had you as my aunt!!
