Barbara A. Tapia, "Bobbie" Salazar, 79, of Northglenn, Colorado, passed away on June 27, 2022, in Lakewood, Colorado.
Barbara was born in Brighton, Colorado to Phillip Salazar and Helen Nuanes on June 11, 1943. She attended Cathedral High School after which she earned a certificate from Mile High School of Beauty. Barbara worked as a Daycare Provider and owned TLC Daycare for 25 years. Her favorite hobbies were traveling, reading, spending time with her family and being the hostess with the mostest!
Barbara is survived by her husband, Fred Tapia of Northglenn, Colorado; children, Jill Tapia (Harry Temple), Kim Tapia (Joe Allen), Fred Tapia Jr., Louie Tapia, and Erica Tapia; sisters, Beverly Salazar and Tina Martinez; six grandchildren, Fredrick Tapia (Luciana Garcia), Alexandra Smyth (Nick Smyth), Julian Tapia, Sophia Gutierrez, Gabriella Gutierrez, and Robert Garcia; two great grandchildren, Raymond Tapia and Jameson Smyth; several nieces and nephews and numerous in-laws. She is preceded in death by her father, Phillip Salazar and his wife, Lena Salazar; and her mother, Helen Costello.
Funeral service will be held at the Archdiocese of Denver Mortuary Chapel 12801 W 44th Ave Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 on Friday, July 8, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. Barbara truly enjoyed celebrations with lots of flowers, all flowers except roses. At Barbara's request please dress in tropical attire.
Reception will be held at: 1722 Truda Drive Northglenn, CO 80233

My sincere sympathy to the family. Barbara watched my youngest daughter, Kristi when she was 4 years old. She is now 47!

I will forever have fond memories of the parties she hosted. Nobody could do it as well as Barbara. Her family was everything to her and I was fortunate to be a part of that family.
