To the Derington Family,
It took us a while to be able to write anything. How do you sum up everything Bob was in just a short note? He meant the world to us and we considered and still consider him and you part of our family. We will miss him dearly and always keep his memories dear to our hearts.

My deepest sympathy to Bob's family.
I worked with Bob many years ago, yet I remember his wit and charm.
I also remember his great love for his children and how proud he was
of them.
My thoughts are with all of you.

There are no words to express the magnitude of the sorrow for the loss of Bob, but there are also no words to describe the magnitude of the love I witnessed from his family and friends. That will truly be his legacy as he will continue to live on in all our hearts. I was honored to care for him, but I was so very blessed for knowing him. You all are in my prayers.

To the Derington family,
Being a part of caring for Bob was so wonderful. Bob was so much fun to care for in the clinic, we all looked forward to his humor. He could always get a smile or a blush from the nurses. In the last few weeks getting to know all of you was very special. It is wonderful to see that Bob has so many people that love him. My thoughts and prayers have been with you these past few weeks. Take care and God bless,

We were only around Bob a few times, but I can honestly say we both felt like we really knew him. When you meet people, it usually takes a while to get to know them. Not Bob. From the moment you met him, there was no guessing as to what kind of person he was. No facade. He was tough but also very thoughtful and kind. He had a great love for his family and children. We feel truly honored to have called him a friend.

My prayers and thoughts are with you all. You are family that was not afraid to show their love, support for each other. Bob was such a delight we were always laughing and teasing when he came in for clinic visit. When I first collected Chris's stem cells for Bob. Chris has special place in heaven for giving so much to his brother as well as the rest of his loving family.Bob will be greatly missed but I do thank God for letting him pass thru my life. Let us know if we can be of any help. Candy (Apheresis RN)

Mike, Thank you for calling me regarding Bob. It has been several
years since we worked together, even so, I will always remember his quick wit and warm smile. He came across as a tough guy with a "teddybear" heart. Warm hugs to you and all of Bob's family-a special thought for his 2 son's loss. God Bless, Verity

I'm not sure where to begin or where to stop, It's hard to express feelings about someone so special into such a short piece but I will do my best. Bob was a truely wonderful person who touched so many people. The things I will remember most is his smile, his laughter when he would tell one of his one liners that you couldn't help but laugh at, even if it was about you. How he would go out of his way just so you knew he cared, which he did so often in my case. How his open heart excepted my family and friends with out question. How he treated all the kids as if they were his own, always making sure every one was taken care of and having a good time. Speaking of good times some of our fondest memories of Bob were spent with him at the lake. I guess what I want to say is Thank You Bob. And to Chuck, Judy, Chris, Mike, Tyler, Travis, & friends I know it is hard not to feel completely cheeted out of our time with Bob, but hopefully the memories will make you smile & remember what an extraordinary person he was. We will miss you terrible. Love Brian, Jennifer,& Ashley Donahue

Dear Bob-
Although I never had the opportunity to meet you in person, you have touched me through the healing work I have done for you and through your brother and dear friends. They love you dearly as you already know. May your passing be a loving and beautiful experience and may the ones left behind find solace in knowing that you are truly happy and at peace.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bob's whole family for their loss.
We will truly miss the most honest, caring, loving, fun, and carefree guy we have ever met. Bob was always willing to go the extra mile for anyone, and always wanted to see others smiling. Anthony and I are thankful that we were able to have a great friendship with a wonderful man with such a big heart. We will cherish the memories of Bob forever.
Anthony and I feel blessed that we got to spend some time with Bob the weekend before he went back into the hospital, and we will miss him terribly. We will always remember the wonderful times we had with him, and keep him in our hearts and thoughts forever.
We love you Bob...you will be missed.
