Carol Rogers Obituary

Carol Weigen Rogers, age 89, died in the presence of family, Sunday, January 28, 2018. Carol was born September 15, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to Helga and Anders Weigen. She attended Colorado College where she was active in the Phi Beta Kappa sorority, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. There she met the love of her life, Roland "Rolly" Rogers. They were for married 63 years until his death in 2013. She is survived by her children, Susan Miner (Robert), John Rogers (Julie Aho), Amy Martel (Bill) and James Rogers (Laura), Grandchildren Joanne Starkey (Jason), Bonnie Rogers, Austin Rogers and Bennett Rogers; great grandchildren Tristan and Hayden Starkey in addition to many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rolly and her brother John Weigen. Carol was known for her extraordinary grace, kindness and an exceptional ability to laugh at herself. To honor her love of travel, especially England, and any kind of chocolate and ice cream, her life will be celebrated on February 25th at Highlands Ranch Mansion at 2:00 with an English Tea, and Ice Cream buffet and plenty of chocolates. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Carol's name to the Humane Society or your local animal shelter.
