Catherine Baker Obituary

Catherine Teele Baker passed away November 8, 2015 in Denver, Colorado. Cathy was 57. She was born and raised in the Boston area. She went West to the University of Arizona where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and met her future husband. She remained and worked in Tucson for many years following her graduation. She moved with her husband to Denver where she worked as a paralegal at the firm of Holmes, Roberts and Owen. Cathy was a wonderful, loving and most-beloved mother and wife. She was tremendously proud of her two sons and enjoyed simply spending time together and sharing in their lives. She loved to travel and she loved the beach. She was a voracious reader. For the last 22 years, Cathy faced the challenge of breast cancer, which she battled with infinite courage, determination and grace. She was active in cancer-survivor support groups and supporting others with breast cancer. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, David Baker of Denver; two sons, Richard and Jack Baker of Denver; two brothers; a sister; and, 10 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to People and Animals Living Synergistically (www.PAALSforlife.com), an organization that Cathy respected and supported.

I have many wonderful memories of Cathy at the University of Maine. She was my "Lil,lil, lil Sister" in AZD sorority. We had lots of laughs and good times together and I will always hold the memories close. So very sorry for your loss Dave, and for the boys' loss.

I remember well meeting her briefly in Tucson, just as you were getting ready to sell your home and move to Denver.

Deepest sympathy and prayers that God guide you lovingly through the days and months ahead.
