Catherine Wolf Obituary

Catherine T. Wolf died at her daughter's home on August 16, 2017, in Colorado Springs after a 3 month battle with bone cancer. She lived a healthy, active and independent life until the time of her recent illness. She was 93. Mrs. Wolf was born on June 2, 1924, in Cape Elizabeth, Maine to her parents Nora and Ernest McDonald. She graduated from William Smith High School in Aurora, Colorado in 1942. She married John Wolf in 1948. They made their living in the plumbing business, including independently operating Wolf Plumbing of Aurora for many years, until the time of John's death in 1990. They had 5 children. She was an active member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Aurora her entire life and served on the Honor Guard and Altar and Rosary Society for about 50 years. Following her retirement from working in Aurora Schools, Mrs. Wolf, volunteered, at Aurora Presbyterian Hospital for nearly 20 + years receiving the Frist Humanitarian Award for her overall volunteer work with the Hospital and her other past and ongoing volunteer work. She also volunteered for Catholic Charities in Aurora until she moved to Colorado Springs in early 2017. She was a member of Senior Friends and traveled in the US and throughout the world. Most of all she was a great Mom and Grandmother. She loved a great card game and later in life a road trips to Central City and Black Hawk was a hi-lite in her week. Throughout her recent hospice, she was still caring about others, concerned about the needs of her care givers, daughter Kathy, sister Barbara, and granddaughter Teri and worried about dying and disrupting the annual family fishing trip. Mrs. Wolf is survived by her daughter Kathy Lavigne of Colorado Springs, her sons Pete Wolf/Pam, Ed Wolf/Jackie Binder of Aurora and Jim and Shari Wolf, of Worland, Wyoming; her sisters Martha (NV)), Estelle, (AZ) and Barbara (MN), brothers John/Arlene (AZ), Tom/Shirley (Denver), Jerry/Mary of (OK), Patrick (Denver), and Kenny (Loveland). Her husband John and son Mike, brothers Charles and Buzz and sister Joanne preceded her in death. She has 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Mrs. Wolf will be interned with her husband at Ft. Logan National Cemetery (S. Sheridan and W. Quincy) at 0900 am on Friday, August 25. An Irish Wake will follow at 10:30 AM at Trea 39, located at 15281 Centretech Cir. (6th and Chambers) in Aurora. In Lieu of Flowers please feel free to donate to your favorite charity.
