Daniel Lee Rubin

1955 - 2018

Dan Rubin passed away after a long struggle with younger-onset Alzheimer's Disease. Born and raised in Denver, Dan was a graduate of North High School and Colorado College. He earned a JD and an MBA at the University of Washington. In his long career as a tax accountant, Dan was admired for his keen tax knowledge and lasting, thoughtful client relationships. Dan was a man of few words, but when he spoke, people listened. Like the flywheel in a clock, Dan provided balance to the lives of everyone he touched. Dan is survived by his wife, Susan, children Hilary (Jason Reimer) Rubin, David (Laura) Rubin, grandson Max, brother Alan (Cheri) Rubin, and in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends, colleagues and clients who will remember him for his unwavering support, kind nature and dry wit. In a final, generous gesture, Dan donated his body to research. Please consider a donation in Dan's honor to the Alzheimer's Association or one of Dan's two favorite nonprofits, Planned Parenthood or Food Bank of the Rockies. An open house celebration of Dan's life will be held on Saturday, March 3 from 3-6 pm at Denver Botanic Gardens.
