Diane Lidvall Obituary

Diane "Dee" Minnich Lidvall, of Broomfield, CO passed away peacefully at HospiceCare on November 17. She was courageous and graceful in death, as in life. Dee was born in Erie, PA on April 25, 1951, the second of two daughters of Richard and Lucy Minnich. She lived a rich life for 54 years in eight states and the District of Columbia. Dee graduated from Wagner H.S. in Louisville, KY in 1969; and earned a degree in Literature from the University of Kentucky in 1975. She was married to Ned Lidvall, her life-partner for over 30 years. Her passions included literature, our environment, nature education, the bluegrass traditions of Kentucky, and her neighborhood. Dee's special magic was making those around her feel good about themselves, and for having spent time with her. Her personal mission was to live in the moment and leave a legacy of love. Dee is survived by her thankful husband, her sister Gail Wolfe, nieces Carly and Kristin Lidvall, nephews Geremy Wolfe, Eric, Patrick, and Ned Gabriel Lidvall...and many, many beloved Friends. At Dee's request, a memorial service will not be held. Rather, Dee asked that her friends and family spend special time in her memory with a loved one enjoying nature, celebrating her essence...and of course, laughing. Additionally, and if so inclined, donations can be made in her name to the Butterfly Pavilion in Westminster, CO (303-469-5441), and the Rock Bottom Restaurant Foundation in Louisville, CO (303-664-4086). An obituary does not do justice to Dee's extraordinary life...she will be missed.
