Howard Head Obituary

Howard D. Head, beloved husband of Mollie, passed away peacefully at the age of 99. Howard was born in Denver to Francis and Carrie Head. He spent his early years in Llano, California before returning to a 40 year career with Bell Telephone Company in Denver. He married Mollie in 1935 and raised a family in Wheat Ridge. Following retirement he and Mollie spent many happy years in Apache Junction, Arizona and at his mountain home in Evergreen. Howard is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mollie, son, Roger and daughters, Betty Gale, Donna Christensen and Kathy Slaughter, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents Francis and Carrie, sisters Iva Tonn and Francis King, and grandchildren Michael Head and Natalie and Heather Christensen. A visitation will be available Thursday from 9 a.m. - 12 noon at Olinger Highland Mortuary, 10201 N. Grant St. followed by a Memorial Service at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions in his honor can be made to The Children's Hospital Foundation, 1245 E. Colfax Ave., Suite 400, Denver, CO 80218.
