If I were to sum up all my feelings about Dr. Bowles, it would come down to just one word, respect.

My memories of Dr. Bowles are of a very kind, and thoughtful man. As a member of the "Org", he was a calming influence, and leader in a gentle way. A rare, and wonderful man. My best to you Mary, and your family.

Dear Mary Bowles,

I am Rida, your foreign daughter when we were in Stevens Point. I am really shock to hear that he passed away, because for several months i keep remembering him and try to find your address to contact, but fail :(.

Herewith, my expression towards Jim:
Frankly, am honored to know him and am glad that i could be his daughter. He's very nice person, gentle and care. Love you.

What an inspiration Dr. Bowles was/is to so many, including me. He was my Sunday school teacher, CS Org adviser and a beloved friend. How can he be missed when he is right here in my heart?

My deepest sympathy Mary and your family for your loss of Jim. I was a natural resources student at UW-SP in the late 60's and early 70's as a graduate student. Jim was a wonderful instructor. I was a wildlife major but enjoyed a few classes with Jim. He was sure down to earth in every way. I can only hope to see him in Heaven getting our hands in the dirt.

I will say a prayer.

So sorry to hear about Jim's passing. I have many fond memories of him as a neighbor and family friend when they lived in Custer. The yearly xmas party as well as skiing and hunting were traditions that I always looked forward to. I can remember their huge dog "king" as well. He was such a friendly dog but he was so big that (when I was younger) he would knock me over! May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

I remember Jim as very friendly & caring person when I met him & Mary while teaching second grade at Rosholt Elementary. Please accept my sympathy but as I once heard, when you live a life like Jim did(caring for others) your memories keep living on. Sincerely, Elaine Bunczak
