Vera Roy Obituary

Vera Roy was born February 11, 1925 to William David and Bertha (Reiner) Jantz in Major County, OK. She died October 15, 2013 in Wichita, KS at the age of 88. Vera was a retired advertising rep for GTE. She is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil; her parents; two daughters, Roberta Snively and Karla LeMay; and a sister, Doris Koehn. Vera is survived by two sons, David (Cheryl) Roy of Wichita, KS and Richard Roy of Marysville, WA; a daughter, Florence (Ben) Scheuling of Lompoc, CA; two brothers, Harold (Peggy) Jantz of Tacoma, WA and Robert (Audry) Jantz of Marysville, WA; a sister, Elizabeth (Irvin) Nygren of Redmond, OR; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. The family has chosen cremation with inurnment at Wilsey Cemetery, Wilsey, KS on December 8, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. The memorials in her memory are the Alzeheimers Association or Hardin Hospice. Old Mission Mortuary is in charge of local arrangements.

I was saddened to hear of Vera's passing. She was a very special person. We worked together for a number of years at GTE. She and her husband Virgil were a special part of our son's scouting career. My husband and our family extend our prayers to Vera's family.
