Allan Roy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Peabody Funeral Home - Londonderry on Mar. 1, 2026.
Allan Albert Roy, lovingly known as "Al," passed away on February 27, 2026, at the age of 64. He was born on December 30, 1961 in Lowell, Massachusetts, and spent much of his life living in Londonderry, New Hampshire. Al dedicated more than 30 years of his career to working as a machinist, a profession that perfectly suited his sharp mind and natural ability to solve problems. He had a remarkable talent for figuring things out and was known by many as someone you could always turn to when something needed fixing.

Outside of work, Al had a passion for creating and building. He loved woodworking on his CNC router, building computers, and programming. Whether he was in his workshop or tinkering with technology, he was always working on something new. He also enjoyed bowling, playing darts, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy.

Al was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ann Marie Roy, who passed away in 2021; his parents Raymond Roy, Sr and Shirley (Jardine) Roy; and his best friend John W. Bicknell, Jr.

He is survived by his children: James Roy and his wife Catherine, Jennifer Murray, Alexander Roy, Nicole Richmond and her husband Kyle, and Richard Roy. He was a proud Papa to Jakob, Ryan, Adalynn, and Oliver. He is also survived by his siblings, Donna, Raymond, Jr., David, Sr., and Lisa; along with nieces and nephews.

Al will be remembered for his generosity, quick thinking, and willingness to help anyone who needed it. He had a kind heart, a brilliant problem-solving mind, and a steady presence that will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The world is a little quieter without him, but the things he built, the problems he solved, and the love he gave to his family will live on forever in the lives he touched.

Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 11th from 4 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. He will be buried at a later date in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
