Jessie Dixon Obituary

Dixon, Jessie Colene
01/27/1977 - 09/12/2023

On Tuesday, September 12, 2023, Jessie Colene Dixon, loving wife, and mother of two children, passed away at age 46 following a valiant battle with cancer. Jessie was born on January 27, 1977, in Piqua, OH to Bob and Linda (O'Neal) Tiernan. She spent her childhood between St. Louis, MO and Newport Beach, CA, before moving to Colorado Springs, CO in 1992, where she attended Air Academy High School, graduating in 1995. Jessie subsequently enrolled in American University in Washington, D.C. before transferring and completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado Boulder, where she was the valedictorian of her graduating class in the business school. Thereafter, she began her professional career with MediaOne's Market Strategy Development Group, leaving to become an early team member at software startup DigiTerra Broadband. In 2006, Jessie graduated the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and accepted a job at Walmart in San Francisco, CA as Director of Merchandising Strategies, where she worked for six years between 2006 - 2012. On May 19, 2007, she married Andy Dixon with whom she has a son, Oliver, born in 2009, and daughter, Audrey, born in 2011. Jessie moved with her family to Denver, CO in 2012 and continued her career in e-commerce, first with eBags, and beginning in 2014 as a founding team member at virtual interior design firm, Havenly, where she served as the Chief Operating Officer until 2020. Most recently, Jessie served as an operating partner at SpringTime Ventures, an early-stage technology investment fund. Jessie was a devout Christian and member of Fellowship Denver Church. She gave back to the community through active participation and board leadership at several local non-profit organizations including Hope Kids, which supports families with children diagnosed with terminal illness, and Metro Caring, a Denver-based anti-hunger organization. In addition, she briefly served on the board of the Country Club Historic Neighborhood where she lived. Jessie had a passion for her family, attending her children's soccer games, snowboarding, travel, friends, and the outdoors. She was known for her exceptional faith, generosity, kind and compassionate spirit, wit, toughness, conviction in her beliefs, and passion for mentoring younger professionals. Jessie is survived by her husband, Andy, her two children, Oliver (14) and Audrey (12), her mother Linda Sommer and stepfather Craig Sommer, her father Bob Tiernan and stepmother Roxanne Tiernan, sister Erin Prange and brother-in-law Dave Prange. She also leaves behind many beloved extended family members and dear friends. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 10 am on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Fellowship Denver Church, 1990 S. Broadway, Denver, CO 80210. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Hope Kids' Colorado Chapter (https://hopekids.org/inhonorofjessie/).
