John probably never knew how much his guidance changed the course of my education and my life but a year later, and forever I am thankful for his hand in my life.

My wife Carol, daughter Shannon and I were blessed to know John through his and Katie's lifelong link with my mother, Betty Kaye Fisher/Miller, and more recently Shannon's time as a student at CU Boulder. John's life of scholarship, leadership and service was truly inspirational, and we will fondly remember his wit, ready smile, gracious hospitality, and genuine interest in each of our lives.

Our heartfelt condolences, love and prayers to the Buechner family.
