SCHELL, KENNETH J.
Kenneth J. Schell, 55, of Mesa, AZ, formerly of Lyons, Longmont, and Denver, Colorado, passed away peacefully at home on April 24, 2006, after a second courageous battle with colon cancer. Ken was known for beating the odds of medical science for many years. He was mischievous with a sharp wit and keen perception of life, and those who lived it. He had an enormous love of animals, specifically dogs, and enjoyed dog racing and casino gambling. He was employed by Beech Aircraft, Boulder, CO, FAA, Longmont, CO, and other during his lifetime. Ken was born February 12, 1951 and spent his early years in Lyons, CO. He was preceded in death by his father, Pete Schell, brother, Mike Schell, and sister, Kathy Schell. Ken is survived by his partner, Bill Adams, Mesa, AZ; his beloved dog, Daisy; his daughter Tami (Brian) Gaynor, Broken Arrow, OK; his mother Betty Schell of Mesa, AZ; sister, Debbie Schell, Mesa, AZ; half-brother Bob (Joann) Hauck, Mackay, ID; 3 grandchildren, Ryan, Amber, & John Gaynor, Broken Arrow, OK; cousin Pat Evig, Mesa, AZ; niece Stacie Schell, Longmont, CO; and aunt Virginia Ostrander, Boulder, CO. His special friends include Dr. Robert Schooley, Milt Fittje, Judy Dominguez, Sharon Prochaska, Susan Hartman, Bertha Gray, and Karen Leonard. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, May 4th, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Sonoran Skies Mortuary, 5650 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ 85205, with interment at Mountain View Cemetery, Longmont, CO at a later date. Donations may be made to Harrison Memorial Animal Hospital, 191 Yuma St., Denver, CO 80223 or Banner Gardens Hospice House, 7231 E. Broady Rd., Mesa, AZ 85208.
