Kyle Thacker Obituary

Thacker, Kyle
Louise
March 8, 1965 - August 17, 2023

Kyle Louise Thacker passed away peacefully at home on August 17, 2023. She is survived by her son Sam Thacker, mother Gretchen Maus, father John Maus (Susan), brothers Jeff Maus (Ellen) and Todd Maus (Blair), her niece and nephew Chauncey and Peter Maus, her extended Covode / Miller family, and a loving circle of friends and colleagues.

Kyle was born and raised in Denver and attended East High School. She knew she wanted to be a lawyer from the time she was a little girl. After graduating from CU Boulder, she worked to put herself through law school and graduated from the University of Denver College of Law in 1991. Kyle was a partner at Ritsema Law and had worked in the field of workers' compensation defense since 1993.

Kyle loved reading fiction and poetry, camping, hiking, and listening to music under the stars at Red Rocks. Her passions were cooking and spending time with her son. She was happiest when whipping up a meal in the kitchen for family and friends or curled up on the couch watching English murder mysteries with Sam and her beloved French bulldogs. We carry her warmth, wit and loyalty with us forever.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to French Bulldog Rescue Network https://frenchbulldogrescue.org, Maxfund Animal Adoption Center https://maxfund.org, or your favorite animal rescue.

I was Kyle's secretary for the last 5 years and really enjoyed working with her. She was smart and had a good sense of humor. I still have reminders of her at my desk and I will miss her.
