I was good friends with Max from 1978 until I moved to California in early 1982. I have many, many great stories about Max as I know many do. We played lots of music together (with Thom J. too, who I grew up with), on KBDI and anywhere else they'd let us play. I still have pictures of us from those days - some of my best memories. Best wishes to all those affected by his passing. He was one of a kind.

Max and I use to laugh about how similar we were. The same age, both in the Marines, both huge Beatle fans and both of us extremly good looking ( least we thought so.) He was so creative and had a real style of his own. One late night at KBDI we were in the control booth shooting the bull and the phones lit up. Max's dog "Miles" fell asleep on the "Over Air" mic petal and all of the front range could hear us talk (swearing and all). Max said "TO BAD, I'M NOT WAKING THE DOG UP FOR THAT" Until that time Maxwell... Until that time...

I remember Max from KBDI, and he remains one of the most entertaining, nicest, most talented people that I met in the early days of the station. Max will be missed by everyone who knew him.

I have only just learned of Max's passing. I had not seen him in many years but remember him as a bright funny, talented man. Just the mention of his name conjures many great stories from the early days of KBDI and his contributions. He will surely be missed by all.

Max was a wonderful person who left an indeliable imprint on the spirit of those of us who were fortunate to have known him. Not only was he a gifted musician, artist, athlete, but I remember him as someone who always made you feel better after you had spent time together. His spirit lives on in the "Max" stories that I still tell to my children. He will be missed, but his spirit will be remembered by those of us who were lucky enough to have known him!

Max married my friend Chris in 1998 and I'd like to think that since that time he was my friend too.
Max's easy going attitude and open heart made getting to know him fun. From going to visit them at their mountain property to hanging out our high school reunions we had lots of fun times together.
I will cherish these moments always and try to be more easy going and have my heart open - like my friend Max.

I work for Mark Young Construction and Max was our Courier to and from Denver three days a week. He always had a story to tell, whether it was on his latest vacation with his wife Christine, or an old story about a concert he saw in the 70's. He was a man of great knowledge and experience. I am so glad I took the 10-20 minutes sometimes to stop my work and have a chat with him. He even took a massage pad I had off my hands to use in his car to make his trips more comfortable. I am so deeply saddened by your passing into the next stage. You seemed to live life to the fullest and I am so happy for that. You will be missed.
