Richard Pearson Larm, a prominent Justice Department attorney who influenced U.S. international trade and antitrust policy, died Aug. 5, 2021 in Connecticut from Parkinson's Disease. He was 76. Born in Minneapolis, to Lorraine Pearson Larm, a mathematics teacher, and Fordyce A. Larm, an accountant. He married Jona C Vieta in New York City in 1980.

A proud product of the Denver public school system, he excelled in debate. After Thomas Jefferson High School, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard College in 1967, and in 1970 Cum Laude from Harvard Law School.

For more than 40 years, he was a lead trade specialist for the U.S. Department of Justice, Antitrust Division, Foreign Commerce Section and one of the Division's longest serving attorneys. He lived in Alexandria, Virginia. In 2007 was Senior Warden at St Luke's Episcopal Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jona Vieta Larm, of New York City; his sister and brother-in-law, Marcia and Richard Chuvarsky, Denver; his niece, Camilla Chuvarsky, New York City; nephew, Mathew Chuvarsky, Yellowstone National Park, and several close cousins.
