Robert Bentz Obituary
Robert D. (Bob) Bentz passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020, after contracting Covid. He was born on December 25, 1932 to Alfred and Marion Bentz, in Lindsey, Wi. He lived and worked in Port Edwards, Wi. until transferring to Denver in the 1970's, for his position with Butler Envelope, later Georgia Pacific. He retired in 1992. Bob started and operated several businesses in Wisconsin and Colorado, and continued to be very active in real estate until his passing.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jeannine, daughters Sheila Zimmerman (Steve), and Rhonda Bentz, and sons Richard Bentz (Theresa), and Steven Bentz (Shawn), and his sister, Nancy Bentz, 20 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Brian, and sister Virginia Steffek.
Bob was an avid golfer, hiker and skier. He loved to travel, and was looking forward to new adventures.
Services will be arranged through Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, Wi. on Dec. 28, 2020. A celebration of Bob's beautiful life will be held in the Denver area when it is safe to gather. Bob was a Christmas baby, a gift of joy, and he spent his life always being positive, industrious, spreading cheer with his wonderful sense of humor to all his cherished friends and family. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him, and he will be sadly missed.

I met Bob in 2009(?).
He flew into Madison Wi on a snowy winter night. I picked him up and we shared a very enjoyable steak dinner and cocktails i Stoughto Wi where we put together acreal estate deal the first night we met. We worked a trade of properties made up of his Island Lake prop and my Lake Kegonsa prop. Unfortunately, the deal didn't pan out for either of us the way we hoped.
We did however have an instant connection and chemistry and stayed in touch a few years.
I ran across some paperwk today which made me reach out and am saddened that he has passed.
I enjoyed and admired him!

To you and your entire family our condolences on the passing of your Father. Never had the pleasure of knowing him but sounds like he was a highly regarded and successful individual. I know he had two great Daughters, God Bless you all.

To my Uncle Bob, for your 80th birthday you invited our whole family to come and help you celebrate over the week of Christmas. We had the best time opening gifts, playing games and had a great meal with birthday cake. You had sweatshirts for each of us that had 80 put on them. On the day some of us were leaving a herd of at least a hundred elk came down the mountain and ended up almost in your back yard eating and resting. You said in all the years you lived there you had not seen anything like that. Thank you for being the best Uncle in the world. We will you so much.
