Susan Peper-Jones Obituary

Susan Jean Peper- Jones died on April 2, 2009, after a long illness. Sue was born November 3, 1952 in Provo, Utah, to Anne and Robert Peper. Sue graduated from the University of Utah in recreational therapy and psychology, then from San Jose State with a master's in psychology. She was a beacon of joy to everyone privileged enough to know her. Everything Sue did - at work, in the community, and at home - was to leave this place better than she found it. From practicing equine-assisted therapy to improve the mental health of her clients, to fighting to preserve wild spaces and protecting the homes of wild animals, to loving each of her friends and family to the fullest, Sue was modern day St. Francis of Asissi - loving all things wild (animals, places and people) and faithfully brightening each person's life she touched. Sue is survived by her husband, Mark, stepson, Dustin (Carey), mother, Anne Peper, sisters, Sally (Brent) Davies, and Annie (Mike) Dosier, and brother, Chris Peper. Sue is also survived by many close, extended family members and loving friends, and don't forget her dogs and horses. A memorial service will be held April 16th at 1:30 p.m. at the Parker Funeral Home, 10325 Parkglenn Way, Parker, CO. Friends can meet the family after the service in the family room of the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Sue Peper Memorial Fund at any Key Bank. The account is housed in Colorado and contributions will be distributed to Sue's favorite charities.

I last saw Sue (my true angel on earth) about 1 1/2 yrs ago. I am so sad I just found out she is now with god. Sue helped me through the hardest times in my life and I will be forever grateful! I only wish I had a chance to say thank you one last time. For the rest of my life Sue will have a place in my heart. Never again will I be so blessed to know such a kind and giving person.

I pray that her family is healing!
Just know she was very loved!!!!!

I heard just a few weeks ago that Sue had died. Every time I think of it, I'm in shock again: How can our Miracle Worker be gone, just like that? We hadn't seen Sue in a few years(at our daughter's HS graduation brunch, as a matter of fact), but how could we not have heard? High School was hell on our daughter, and Sue and her horses really did work a miracle; her friendly, sympathetic, but frank demeanor was a perfect fit.

I'm saddened for her family, who must miss her terribly, and I'm also saddened for all the adolescents who won't have Sue to help them along.

God speed, Susan.

Sue has been helping my daughter, Jessica Hansen, with equestrian assisted psychotherapy for the past five years. There are no words to express the impact she has made on my daughter and our family. We will honor Sue's memory each and every day by remembering the invaluable life and relationship lessons she has taught us over the years. We love her from the depths of our souls and will be eternally thankful for having been touched by her.
