Timothy DeTine Obituary

DeTine, Timothy P.
September 7, 1961 - May 11, 2019

It is with great sadness that the family of Timothy P. DeTine announces his unexpected passing on Saturday, May 11, 2019. Tim was passionately devoted to his wife and two children, and he was deeply loyal and generous to his many siblings and friends. Once a friend of Tim's, you were always a friend. Tim was someone everyone felt comfortable going to for advice and support because of his honesty and understanding. As the go-to man for many who were seeking personal or professional guidance, Tim offered it caringly without judgement. Tim began his professional career as accountant at Arthur Young, where many of his colleagues became his lifelong friends. He later thrived managing operations and financials in the dairy industry, including for the past twelve years at Royal Crest Dairy as its President and Chief Financial Officer. He was fiercely proud to be part of the Miller Family legacy. Tim was the seventh child of ten born to the late Elizabeth and Louis DeTine. Tim cultivated special relationships with each of his siblings and maintained them through the years while growing up in Detroit and later living near Chicago and Denver. Tim is a proud graduate of Michigan State University where he met his wife, Maureen. They celebrated thirty-one years of marriage this past year. Their daughter Paige and son Sean have been a tremendous source of joy and happiness. Tim held the bar high for both of them and always offered each his loving encouragement and praise. In them he was most proud of their virtuous character, above of all their individual achievements. Tim is survived by his wife Maureen (Byrne); daughter Paige and son Sean; siblings, Greg DeTine, Paula Elias, Kim DeMarco, Michelle DeTine, Pam Calder, Liz DeTine, DeDe Ward, Collette Dicinto and Patrick DeTine; Maureen's eight siblings, her parents, and twenty-eight nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Tim's life will held on Friday, May 17th at 3 PM, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, Colorado. In memory of Tim, the family asks that donations be made to the Griffin Holland Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis (www.gofundme.com).

I have just heard this devastating news. I worked with Tim at Ernst and Young. He would make me laugh so hard at parties that my stomach muscles would be sore the next day. He was a true and loyal dear friend.

Working at Pinehurst Country Club, I would see Tim every once in a while but never really got to know him. According to his older sister, he was funny, popular, and loved by and gave love to many. I wish the family the best in their time of grievance and hope that they persevere through one another. Sincerely,

I had the pleasure of working at Royal Crest with Tim for 15 years. He always had a kind word, interested in what I had to say and showed concern and compassion for what was going on in my life. He was a great employer, caring and funny. I'll miss him.

Our hearts are broken over the loss of our brother in law Tim who always had a big smile, funny story and genuine concern for every family member. Although we lived far away whenever we got together he treated us so kindly and generously even hosting our family & cooking a Thanksgiving Day feast for us ( without breaking a sweat & remaining calm) when we visited their family when they lived in Chicago. His caring nature and wonderful sense of humor and even temperament will be sorely missed and we pray for his wife, son & daughter to accept God's will on welcoming him to heaven earlier than we all wanted.
Without saying he will be sorely missed!
