Jimmy C Martin

Jimmy C. Martin, 72, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at his residence in DeRidder, LA. Born in Sardis, TN, he grew up in the Mobile, AL, area and moved to DeRidder in 1969. He was retired from Boise Cascade paper mill in DeRidder. Jimmy was one of the original employees of the DeRidder mill and was an operator and trainer. His family was the center of his life and he was deeply loved and admired by his wife, daughters, grandchildren, family and friends. . He lead a Christian life and spread love to all through his acts of kindness and words of wisdom. 
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Geraldine "Jerry" Martin of DeRidder; three daughters, Sherry Martin Laughlin of Spring, TX, Carolyn Martin Tatum of DeRidder, and Amy Martin of Lake Charles, LA; five grandchildren, Leah, Nicholas, Andrew, Hannah and Tanner; and six brothers, Thomas Martin and Gerald Martin, both of Tennessee, C.J. Martin of Kilgore, Texas, Paul Martin, Johnny Martin, and Wayland Martin, all of Mobile, Alabama. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 25, 2011, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder at 10 A.M., with Rev. Stuart Graves officiating. Burial will take place in Mobile, AL. Visitation will be Thursday, March 24, 2011, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder from 5 P.M until 9 P.M., and from 9 A.M. until time of the service, Friday, March 25, 2011, at the funeral home.
