Verline Jeans

Verline S. Jeans, 85, of Merryville, passed from this life on Thursday,
September 8, 2016 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.
She was a life member of the VFW ladies' auxiliary in DeQuincy.
She worked in the medical field as a long-time employee of the Merryville General Hospital and retired from there.
Mrs. Jeans enjoyed her favorite pastimes of bird watching and spending time with friends and family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Stan Jeans and wife Laura of
Merryville; her daughters, Sheila Jones Langston and Corliss Powell, both of
Merryville; four grandsons; two granddaughters; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R.J. "Dick" Jeans; her parents, Huey and Viola Stanley; three brothers; one sister; and two granddaughters, Michelle
Hammond and Mandy Lynn Jones.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 4:00 p.m., also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Brother Buddy Freeman and Pastor Jason Fortenberry will officiate.
Pallbearers will include Casey Jones, Chris Jones, Cole Jeans, Clay Jeans, Hunter Jones, and Lee Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Payton Jeans and Bain Jones. Burial will follow at Meadows Cemetery in Merryville.
