Alvin Harding Obituary

Alvin Dean Harding 1926 ~ 2004  Our devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend Alvin Dean Harding, 77 of Highland, Utah passed away Thursday morning Jan. 1, 2004 at his home suddenly and unexpectedly. He was born March 13, 1926 in Provo, Utah to Alvin W. (Bode) and Mary Davis Harding. He attended schools in Provo, Utah. Dean served his country aboard the U.S.S. Massey in World War II. He married Norma Jene Wood on May 24, 1947. To that union three children were born. Norma died December 8, 1983. He married Margene Liddiard, August 31, 1984. Dean was active in the pipe trades and owned and operated Allied Plumbing & Heating until his retirement. He was president of the Mechanical Contractors from 1973-1974 and was director of both Harding Mechanical and Wasatch Bank. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and also belonged to Alpine Country Club and Elks Lodge 849. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Margene and visited many parts of the world. He was looking forward to going to Mexico in his motor home with his wonderful friends, a trip which he and Margene had taken for the past several years. Survivors include his wife Margene of Highland and his dog Trinkie; one son and two daughters, Robert G. (Barbara) Harding, Park City; Jill (Mark) Kendall, Orem; and Jeana (Kurt) Vuksinick, Pleasant Grove; three step-children, Rick (Paula) Taylor, Provo, Becky (Sandy) McMaster, San Dimas, California; and Randy (Georgia) Lowe, St. George; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister Betty (Terry) Christensen of Highland; sister-in-law Bonnie Harding of Bicknal, UT; brothers and sisters-in-law Jim (Barbara) Liddiard, Provo; and Gary (Cathy) Liddiard, Sundance; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, and brother  Eldon. He was dearly loved by all his family and friends. We will miss his great wisdom and love. We love you Dad – Be at peace. Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 5, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Berg Mortuary Drawing Room Chapel, 185 E. Center Street, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the mortuary Sun. evening from 6-8 p.m. as well as Monday morning one hour prior to services. Interment, Orem City Cemetery.

Dean was a very good friend of mine.I have enjoyed being with Dean and his friends. He made the best egg toast. I and many of his friends will miss him. Mark and Jill were also friends of mine and my best wishes are with them at this time. Ken and Maxine Mashall
