Barbara Mace Obituary

1922 ~ 2016
Kaysville-Barbara Jean Bowman Mace, 93, passed away June 1, 2016, at her home.
She was born November 27, 1922, the daughter of Devereaux Washington and Cleah Whipple Bowman in Colonia Juarez, Mexico.
Barbara married Ward Spencer Mace on December 24, 1946, in Mesa, Arizona. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa Arizona Temple.
After completing nurses training at LDS Hospital, Barbara went on to nurse many patients as a Cadet Nurse at Bushnell Hospital in Brigham City, Utah. She spent over 40 years working as a Registered Nurse.
She was an active member in the LDS Church and Primary was her love in the church. She would happily watch and care for all children in her ward.
Surviving are her son, Ward Spencer Mace Jr. (LuAnne), Ketchikan, Alaska; daughters, Elva K Carpenter, Kaysville; Catherine Mace, Kaysville; Wilma Mace, Roy; Dev Bowman Mace (Colleen), Apache Junction, Arizona; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Ward Spencer Mace, parents, two brothers and best sister cousin, Effie Dean Bowman Rich.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 E. Crestwood Road. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
