BEVERLY PITT Obituary

Beverly Jordan Pitt 1928 ~ 2010 Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Beverly Jordan Pitt, 81, passed away Wednesday, March 31 in Salt Lake City after a long illness. She was born October 12, 1928 in Murray, Utah to Herbert Wayne and Martha Bugay Jordan, and married Leon B. Pitt on her 19th birthday, October 12, 1947 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on January 27, 1959. She served faithfully throughout her life in many different church capacities, including serving in the Relief Society and Primary organizations. She loved to read, sew, crochet and garden-but her greatest love was her family. The successful and happy life of her youngest son David is a testament to her dedication, determination and love. She worked and gave tirelessly, and her care and concern for him and others was evident until the very end. She is survived by her husband, three sons and one daughter: Brent (Stella) Pitt, Austin, TX; Greg (Kathy) Pitt, Taylorsville, UT; Julie (Doug) Myler, Roy, UT; David Pitt, Murray, UT; three brothers: Gerald Jordan, Sandy, UT; Robert Jordan, Murray, UT; Larry Jordan, FL; one sister: Shauna (Tim) Lee, Murray, UT; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Riverside 7th Ward, 500 West Germania Avenue, Murray, Utah. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State St., Murray, Utah and one hour prior to the funeral service at the Riverside 7th Ward. Interment will be at Murray City Cemetery. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Care Source Hospice and Residence Inn for their dedication, loving kindness and compassionate service. They will be long and gratefully remembered for their sensitivity and professionalism. Online condolences: www.jenkins-soffe.com

How I love Aunt Bev. I'm so sorry we couldn't make it out there for her funeral today. She always made me laugh and was always willing to give love. I am so grateful for the time I was able to spend with her. Uncle Leon you and your family are in our prayers. What a wonderful thing it is to know we will see her again. Love, Jana (Pitt) Howard

Bishopric Pitt, my wife and I are deeply saddened at the loss of your wife and our friend. Your family has been an inspiration to me for most of my life. I appreciate your families friendship and love. We love your family and know you can find the hope and peace that comes through an understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our love and prayers are with your family at this time...Dan and Rhonda Snarr.

I do so love Sister Pitt. She is so humble, sweet and caring. I loved to look at her and have missed seeing her lately. She has been such a great example of love, tenderness and humility. She has already been missed in our ward family and we are sure of her great reward for the wonderful person she is. Our love goes out to her family.
