Bjorn Millom Obituary

Bjorn Millom
3/25/1946 ~ 3/3/2012
Bjorn Millom, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, passed away suddenly Saturday morning, March 3, 2012, in the arms of his wife and sweetheart, Margaret.
His wit and amazing intellect, generous nature and renaissance talents, will be missed by all whose lives were touched by him, but mostly his loving family. Jeg elsker deg min elskede evig.
Bjorn was born in Oslo, Norway to Stian Millom and Inger Helene Edvartzen on March 25, 1946. They immigrated to the USA to Utah on June 4, 1948.
His parents divorced and his mother later married Glen Forgie, who adopted Bjorn and changed his name to Harold Edward Forgie. Later in life he took back his birth name. He attended Hillcrest High School and the University of Utah where he graduated with double majors in English and Broadcast Journalism. In his teens, he filled a mission to his native Norway and served as a lieutenant in the Marine Corps. Following his honorable discharge he returned to Utah where he pursued several careers including local news reporter. It was his work as a successful stockbroker that led to his founding of The Millom Group and co-creator of the popular referral workshop, Smart Referrals. He was a man of tireless energy and enthusiasm for physical activities and the outdoors, including completion of a triathlon in Hawaii. But his greatest passion in life was his family and his pursuit of art.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Inger Helene Edvartzen Forgie; his adopted father, Glen E. Forgie; his brother, Dustin Travis Forgie; a stillborn daughter, Vanessa Forgie; and his devoted dog, Max.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Allen Millom; and his children, Derek Hartley, Peekskill NY; Jacqueline Jarrett (Brian), Bountiful, UT; Tiffany White (Josh), LA, CA; Rachel Reid (Rob), Pleasant Grove, UT; Jacob Kocherhans (Melinda), Albuquerque, NM; Rebekah Kocherhans-Dyer (Sam Espinosa, fiancé), Murray, UT; Adam Leif Erik Forgie, Orem UT; Emily Kocherhans (Joseph Morales, partner), Murray, UT; Alyssa Naley, Austin, TX; Ruth Sorenson, Murray, UT; Sarah Kocherhans, Murray, UT; Zachary Bjorn Millom, Salt Lake City, UT; and 20 grandchildren; his brother, G. John Forgie (Mary), Cedar City UT; sister, Nannette Wilde (Kim), Cedar Park, TX; uncle, Paul Edvartzen, Falls City, WA; and uncle, Frank Millom, Oslo, Norway; and numerous cousins and nieces and nephews.
He was previously married to Tracy Hartley, Kathy Harr, and Lily Ramphal.
Memorial services will be held in his honor at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St., Midvale, Utah, Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 2 p.m., and Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Murray 28th Ward, 932 West Greenoaks Dr., Murray, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, please give donations to Utah Central Credit Union, Murray, in the name of The Millom Family. www.goffmortuary.com

Margaret,

I cannot tell you how sad I was to hear of Bjorns death. I have worked with many consultants and professionals in the industry over the years, but Bjorn was truly an original. I learned more from him than any, and his impact on our industry is more profound than any will ever know. His passing is our loss. Beyond being the consummate professional, Bjorn was a genuinely kind, thoughtful, and honest man. I truly enjoyed his company, and deeply respected his skills. A man of integrity and character, he will be missed. Please accept my deepest condolences, and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

To Bjorn's Family: I just met Bjorn for the first time on Feb 21st, when he presented a seminar in our office. I was struck by how wonderful he was with people he had just met and how he remembered each of our names. He loved what he did and what he shared with us was very valuable. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all... May knowing that he was able to share his skills with so many people.

Even though we'd been divorced for nearly 40 years, we remained friends for all that time. Bjorn loved his children and grandchildren and will be missed.

Bjorn was an amazing man. I always enjoyed talking with him everytime he came in the store, whether it was to pick up an order of books or anything else. The two of you were always my favorite customers and made my day each time you came in. I have thought of you both very often since I moved back to Oregon. Such wonderful & unique individuals. I am so sorry for your loss of such a great man. He will be truly missed. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers in your time of sadness.
